Pia Wurtzbach

Pia Angela Alonzo Wurtzbach (born September 24, 1989), once professionally known as Pia Romero, is a Filipina-German actress, model and beauty queen who was crowned Binibining Pilipinas 2015 on March 15, 2015; and later crowned Miss Universe 2015 on December 20, 2015.

Wurtzbach was born in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg to a German father and Filipino mother. She later moved to Cagayan de Oro on the island of Mindanao where she attended kindergarten at Kong Hua School and primary school at Corpus Christi. Her parents separated when she was 11 years old, and she became the breadwinner of the family from age 11 years old until 18 years old by doing modeling and acting. 

Wurtzbach speaks fluent Cebuano (Visayan), English, German and Tagalog.

She finished her secondary education at ABS-CBN Distance Learning School in Quezon City and studied Culinary Arts at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies in San Juan, Metro Manila.

Wurtzbach is a professional model, actress, host and TV personality. She is also a Culinary Arts graduate from the Center for Culinary Studies. At age 14, under the name Pia Romero, she worked as an actress and was managed by ABS-CBN's theatrical agency called Star Magic, wherein she was included on the Star Circle Batch 11. Among her TV credits are the teen-oriented series K2BU, the concert variety program ASAP, the romance anthology Your Song, the sitcom show Bora, and the drama series Sa Piling Mo.

She appeared in films such as Kung Ako Na Lang Sana (2003), All My Life (2004), and All About Love (2006). At present she is a stylist, makeup artist and beauty writer for Inquirer Lifestyle's 2bU section.

Binibining Pilipinas
Wurtzbach joined the Binibining Pilipinas Pageant three times before she got the title for Binibining Pilipinas Universe (highest title). During Binibining Pilipinas 2013, she was the 1st Runner-Up (5th place), the only title-holder who does not compete that time. She tried joining Binibining Pilipinas 2014 again, and she only placed in the Top 15. There was a controversy on her Question and Answer portion wherein she was asked in Tagalog by one of the judges, Senator Sonny Angara, wherein she also answered in Tagalog, a factor that people thought have caused her not to win any title that year. It was on her third attempt that she was able to win Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2015 title, wherein she represented the Philippines for the Miss Universe 2015 Pageant.

Wurtzbach represented the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2015 held on December 20, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. At the end of the show, host Steve Harvey announced Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez as the winner. However, after Gutiérrez's crowning, Harvey stated that he had misread the results and that Wurtzbach was the actual Miss Universe 2015. Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega then removed the crown from Gutiérrez's head and placed it on Wurtzbach's head.

I am surprised A South American started a thread for her b/c I heard she is REALLY hated there 

Anyway, I am glad she won. She was a strong competitor 

Not really, as a Venezuelan is our patriotic duty to hate any contestant from Colombia so we were celebrating Pia's victory hard  Specially because if the Colombian girl had won we wouldn't still be the only country with a back to back, IDK if you were on twitter while the pageant aired but pretty much every Venezuelan was praying Miss Colombia would lose and we were the first ones to create memes making fun of her lol when the whole mess went down.

That being said, Pia is a beautiful woman and she looks really natura and not all re-done like previous winners, while i think USA had a better performance in the question rounds I think Pia was the most graceful out of the bunch and her body was also one of the best, I'm glad she won, sucks that she is getting outshined by the whole mess, I saw her round of interviews from yesterday and it was all she was asked about

BTW, Steve and Miss Columbia went around to various entertainment shows promoting The Steve Harvey Show's 2-part series of the Miss Universe controversy. WTF!? Althought Pia won she is definitely getting the short-end of the stick and being outshined

Give it three months and the Colombia will be forgotten, heck she's MIA already  Pia still has a whole year ahead of her and she's doing really well. All Ariadna had was the hype and it's dead already.
