Maybe because last year, they didn't finish until literally a day or two before release, they decided to give themselves a little extra time. Hope we start seeing Casting Calls soon as well. I'm interested to see what new faces they bring in.

its not that wierd i remenber they have done shoots in april in past years.

Well Rookie of the Year did start out as a literal joke.

I believe back when Jimmy Traina still did "Hot Clicks" on the old CNNSI site, he dubbed Kate the Rookie of the Year in her first year.

Then SI/MJ latched onto that idea and turned it into something ridiculously over the top.
