College football for me is a little different because I get more invested in the individual players than I do the teams themselves. Like, I'm a huge Leonard Fournette fan out of LSU. I really want to see Gunner Kiel have a bounce back year at Cincinnati playing QB. (His brother was QB at my alma mater - Illinois State University, when I was there)
As for teams. yes, I am an Illinois homer. Specifically for the University of Illinois, being a Chicago Bears fan and all, I'm really intrigued to see what Lovie Smith can do there. But I root for all the Illinois teams. Illinois, Northwestern, Northern Illinois.
But my FAVORITE team, even though I'm an Illinois homer...is the Miami Hurricanes. I fell in love with college football watching Sean Taylor (R.I.P.), Ed Reed, and all them back when they had their 2nd dynasty going. And I've always stuck with them.
But again, I more-so enjoy watching Individual players, So come Saturdays during CFB season, I watch as many games as I possibly can.
Your Miami fan-ness vs My Florida fan-ness is not a good thing.
