quick question about the sensor bar

I'm using the sensor bar that nintendo put in the package, how far do you have to sit from the tv to be able to use it?

i bought my first wii points yesterday haha, spent some on Pokémon Snap, which is like my favorite game of all time thinking of spending the rest on SMB, unless somebody could recommend me something else? I heard World of Goo is supposed to be good

World of Goo is fun, but can be hard, sometimes annoying.

I don't know what your into so SMB sounds like solid choice.
