The way the Chinese CCP politically-driven growth system works is they turn the nation into a "mayor economy" whose tenure relies on stimulating GDP growth. The vast majority of CCP politicians are also engineers (rather than lawyers in the US).
This is overall is way more effective than the US method although it brings in a different set of problems. I do wonder if the US will ever drop its hubris and try to learn from other countries..
