QuoteAndreea has of those rare faces from another time, and yet somehow, equally ahead of her time. There’s a no-nonsense boyish charm that somehow increases her disarming degree of allure. There’s a casual disinclination towards taking herself too seriously. And there you have the French girl (or in this case, Romanian supermodel) effortlessness we all aspire to: to be simultaneously done and undone, charming and aloof, feminine and tomboyish. Once masters, you can pull off just about anything – and pull together a fairly disparately styled story. Admittedly, my only threads of consistency here were A ) layering spaghetti straps over shirts and B ) Andreea.
But you know, we could do a lot worse for a half day churning through looks on this kick-*** rooftop that the owner boasted as hosting Lenny Kravitz jumping off ladders, John Legend crooning at screaming women, and Rihanna and her wine glass.
Andreea didn’t really care.
The Studio W dream girl is not scared of heights. She’s as comfortable behind the lens as she is in front. She wears pants as much as pink. She’s low maintenance and doesn’t carry a bag when she’s out – just her phone and her ID in her back pocket. She’s a no-makeup makeup lady – though probably not a lady at all.
And I guess you could say Andreea is a perfect fit.

The Bucharest-born model returns home to guide a tour of her beloved country, from the Transylvanian village of Viscri to the medieval town of Sighisoara, all while dressed in vibrant but effortless styles by Isabel Marant, Dries Van Noten and Missoni that are ready for real life, even on a lazy Sunday.

Urban fashion in New York
We head to the Big Apple with Studio w and fashion icon Bonang Matheba.
Studio.w is synonymous with urban life. With that comes style, travel and discovering new cities. And what better place to do this than New York where we go behind the scenes on the Spring/Summer 2016 campaign shoot.
Supermodel Andreea Diaconu is very familiar with the jet set life, having walked the runway for the likes of Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Prada. She’s also been the face of some top luxury brands from Balmain to Gucci. This Studio.w collection is the perfect capsule wardrobe for the urban lifestyle. Monochrome pieces mixed with pops of print in easy wearing fabrics making for an ultra-chic look.
Armed with Andreea's hotlist of what to do in New York, Bonang hails a cab and heads off to see where the fashion set hang out. First stop; craft coffee shop Everyman Espresso. This area of New York is Andreeas’ back yard - a historically creative hub and home to many artists and writers. It’s also the location of the next stop on her hot list, Mast Books, a regular with local fashionistas.
Spot number 3 on the list is Chef Jody Williams’, Buvette Gastrotheque – an old world café that’s Andrea’s favourite brunch spot. For a lazy afternoon on a hot Summer’s day in Manhattan, Central Park is the best place to grab a pretzel, Andreea’s top New York City snack. For dinner with a touch of class, spot no 4 on Andreea’s list is Freud. It offers a contemporary take on brasserie fare inspired by turn-of-the-century Vienna in the Heart of Greenwich Village. The dishes created by Austrian Michelin-star chef Eduard Frauneder.
