Don Rickles'  insult comedy is very racist- too racist for today.  His successor, Jeffrey Ross noticeably avoids using race in his insults

I'm not familiar with several on your list.  I remember Lewis Black from his daily show days- he and Steve Carrell were probably the funniest guys.  Lewis' Black's comedy special during the Bush years was one of my favorites.  Jeff Foxworthy's observations of rural/redneck USA are on the money.

You know, I tried to listen to Robin Williams (and Steve Martin, a similar type) and found them too fast paced and crazy- I probably don't get them yet.

Comedians that I share a personal connection with in terms of personality and style and see worth studying to improve my own skills:

Segura, Muleny, Patton Oswalt, Jim Jefferies, Tosh, Norm Macdonald

As far as the rest of the list goes, all of these were selected because I liked at least 20 minutes of their performance

Hindu and Buddhist gods (and their visual representations) are pretty horrifying

I've been listening to his albums (4 of them).  As far as currently working storytelling comics go, I think he's probably the best (if there are any others, I'm all ears).  Better than Segura, Muleny, and Jefferies.
