This Picture ...
This picture is famous and historic.
This is when she was in Australia for the Melbourne Cup, the equivalent to Kentucky Derby or Ascot in the UK.
A horse race and always a fashion event.
The "Shrimp" wore a dress 4 inches above the knee which was shocking for the era as is evidenced by the
startled onlookers.
So, then, this is the beginning of the fabulous era of the Mini Skirt.
