Late for the party as usual but I finally decided to watch the show (well, skim through is more accurate but I didnt watch the last 3 shows at all), and oh dear. What was with that editing ? Girl 1 showed up on the runway, skip to girl 2, skip to the performer, skip to girl 3 posing at the end of the runway, skip to girl 4 backstage, skip to the performer, skip to girls 1 and 2 posing at the end of the runway... I'm sure it was very controlled and rehearsed but the editing made the whole thing look like a giant mess.

I hated the music, but I have hated the music for a while now, I wonder if it's just me getting old and out of touch.

The in between segments were really boring. I mean we get it, the VSFS is the best, greatest, awesomest, grandest, most super duper fabulous fashion show in the universe, and the girls are super ultra lucky to be awarded the rare divine priviledge to be there, no need to repeat it every single year, it's getting tiresome.

Last thing that I didn't like : showing Ming Xi's fall. I had seen pictures but I expected it to be edited out. Keeping that moment felt like a reality TV thing, when someone has a meltdown, the camera is there to show it to you with a big zoom on the tears. I thought that was tasteless. I suppose it's like Fernanda's wardrobe malfunction back in 2003 but I didn't mind as much, first because she kept her composure on stage and second, the show as a whole was much better.

For the positive however, the stage was really nicely done. I think it looked right, between runway and concert venue, since this is what VSFS is now. The outfits were in general really nice and the girls looked beautiful. I suppose my biggest complaint is that, obviously I don't know what it was like when you were in the audience, but as a TV program, the VSFS is supposed to be an entertainment, and I was not entertained.

My take aways from this year:
Positive:
1) Make up looked a LOT better on most of the girls.

2) NO Bechweaver or whatever it was called.

3) NO extensions for the girls. I loved that they played up to the girl's hair length and left it, only adding bits in for volume.

4) outfits/costumes were a tad bit better this go around, but....I still think Sophia needs a break.

5) I actually liked the stage-runway. It's not something I would cry over, but it was nice.

Negative:
1) editing. Too many cuts and shots from the shoe level.

2) editing. Not enough time on most of the models.

3) editing.

4) Ale's leaving got me more worked up than I thought. And I'm not a huge fan of hers.

5)Visa issues.

6) Sophia needs a break.

7) Stop throwing shit onto a back piece and calling it a wing.

The show was awful but man did Elsa kill it. She outshined everyone. Not to mention she is drop dead beautiful. I did like Candice's opener but she almost seemed pissed like over it. She usually smiles a lot more. I liked Adriana but as always she does those dumb i love you gestures. Josephine's walk was terrible this year. Taylor Hill is gorgeous and her legs wow. She did not get enough screen time. Seriously Elsa though....she should've opened the show again in the swarovski outfit. I like that she can be fierce or playful in a nonstupid try hard way unlike the other models. She is a natural.
