I got half of what I wanted today, not too bad. Would like to have seen Argentina win, too.

The Icelandic chant has been adopted by other fans in this game?

I like the Icelandic chant. When I first saw France do it a while back, I was embarrassed for them. They should have their own thing and not steal from another country.

What Putin wants, Putin gets? But to be fair, host countries’ teams have an advantage that is supported by statistics.

Iran wins, Spain draws, Russia gets Iran. Denmark beats France, Iceland or Nigeria are 2nd in their group. Russia gets one of Denmark/Iceland/Nigeria. Russia is in the semifinals, Putin wills it.

Putin wills it!

Crappy way for Spain to go out and they were clearly the better side during play, but seeing Ramos cry makes it worth it after all the cunty stuff he's done over the years.

Well Russia x Croatia in the quarters for a chance to go to the semifinals.

Wasn't that impressed with Croatia today, Denmark play them very well and could've easily taken this match.

Yeah, but on the other hand that Denmark vs. France match was pretty undignified. Would have made for a great story though had the goalkeeper succeeded one more time as his father was watching.

Modrić, what did you do? Too much pressure!

Anyway, Croatia, you're worth much better than that!

I hope you pull yourselves together against Russia, boys, because Putin is watching you!

Sure, but they had a very nasty defense at the end of the match and Jorgensen killed a potentially great goal (he should've gotten a red card). I was mad in front of my TV and then Modrić  missed his penalty

France could be a deserving team to win if they continue to perform like in the best game of the tournament so far (France vs. Argentina) especially considering they narrowly missed winning the Euro 2016 tournament.

And yes, I am hoping to see Neymar really break through in this tournament For some reason, I find team Brazil likable.

And recently I’ve been thinking that England winning could be a lot of fun The nation would never recover!

Kinda looking forward to Japan tomorrow. This tournament needs that World Cup feeling so it isn’t just a bunch of European and South American teams competing.

Rebic still should've scored and Modric wouldn't have had to take that penalty.

Still not convinced by France, Argentina wasn't the most organized team in this tournament.

It's a win win tomorrow..... Mexico or Brazil is out.

The other confederations need to step up their game imo. The UEFA & CONMEBOL WC qualifiers are the toughest in the world, so this is to be expected.

Number of teams by confederation that made it to the knockout rounds:

UEFA (11) - Russia, Spain, Croatia, Denmark, Sweden, England, France, Spain, England, Belgium, Switzerland

CONMEBOL (4) - Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia

CONCACAF (1) - Mexico

AFC (1) - Japan

CAF (0) - none

OFC (0) - none

Hoping Brazil will play in the finals! I think this tournament needs a star player like Neymar since Messi and Ronaldo went home already.

Brazil vs. France could be a great upcoming match! Neymar vs. Mbappe.

Btw, Does McDonald’s choose the kids who escort the players? Those uniforms are horrendous.

Japan’s national hymn is beautiful.

^ Aww, I think it’s cute how he jumps on his teammates during a celebration.

He did flop around like a fish on dry land after that Mexican player stepped on his foot. I’m sure it hurt but not that much.
