Betty Suarez has always had one goal in life: to make it into the fashion industry. Despite being smart, hard-working, and productive, her dream has always been shadowed by the fact that she isn't the best looking young woman. However, she is now determined to do whatever it takes to fulfill that ultimate dream.

UGLY BETTY stars America Ferrera in the title role. The show is based on the wildly popular Colombian telenovela which has already been successfully translated in Mexico, India, Russia, and Germany - all to stellar ratings.

Has anybody watched this show? I downloaded and watched it twice so far, basically because it has only just aired twice, but it's definitely worth watching. America Ferrera is great playing the "ugly girl" Betty Suarez and one of my favs Vanessa Williams is also in it!

I've seen it once but not in depth and only for a few minutes. Either way, it was funny.

I didn't see the original version in spanish (which by the way is probably a lot better).

Originals usually are, but I'd still recommend it. It'skinda cute..

true, I'm actually happy they took a spanish soap/show and remade it in english... after all, spanish soap operas (esp the mexican ones) are far better than the american ones, anyway.

Btw, I saw on Oprah that Salma Hayek is one of the producers of the show and handpicked the person to play Betty Suarez.

I watched the Spanish version. It was kinda dorky but fun.

America Ferrera's a good actress. I'm curious what will come out of it.. maybe dowloading it later.

More people should watch this show. Especially when you like fashion..

I'll never be tired of seeing. I've seen it twice on tv and I even went late to bed sometimes because I wanted to see it.

The Colombian version is way too better than the copies that are lying around on other screens.
