I have the latest episode and didn't get into it. I saw some preview material on youtube for Altered Carbon and couldn't get into it either. I'm the type that has to like the actors to watch anything, otherwise it throws me off. Currently I'm watching Westworld

Which episode did you watch? It's very difficult to get into the story if you haven't watched the previous episodes. I'd advise you to watch the first episode and then the 2nd episode (to really get into the story); it's a very "absorbing".
And the actors are great! There's Thomas Jane, but Shohreh Aghdashloo is also really good (and basically all the cast; they are not very famous, but they are all very gifted). I have a feeling you may like this actor as well:

Did you catch Adam Savage’s cameo in S2?
I watched the mini mini series of Nightfliers. It was ok, though a bit better than the movie.
^ I didn't remember Adam Savage until you mentioned him... I watched his "mythbusters" show when I lived in Australia. I remember it was a funny and interesting, but I didn't quite remember the names.
Adam Savage is back at Mythbusters, he’s with kids now. It’s called Mythbusters Jr.
Just started the show and am on Episode 4 of Season 1.
It's been building up the characters and stories so far with nothing really happening.

Kewl op. I caved and now have Amazon Prime! There are a lot of shows and movies I’ve heard of so I’m a bit excited to dive into it.

You need to watch The Boys.
I finished Season 4 and it's good.
