When being a model was actually a real job with drop dead beautiful women. No face app and no snap chat filters.

I agree, now be model is not like another years. And I think there are more sex contracts thsn fashion, good editorials. I miss privacy life, only Hello or another magazine interviews or on the tv. A lot of that famous people lose interesting watching them online.

The Supermodel concept, and now the "VS Angel" concept is largely dead.  And there are models everywhere now, from instagram to agencies.

It seems that with the internet media, print media (newspapers, magazines, etc.) went down massively in quality and quantity as they no longer had the income to support all these things.  So the economics of no more supermodels make sense.  Whenever those posters post the old runway/editorial stuff it looks more glamorous, and the photography seems more artistic.

It is true. Now there are more models, but it is not same like in past. And more competition than acceptation, to me, ridiculous. Like if only some people could wear nice clothes and others no.

In past, supermodels and VS Angels were appreciated, and women who were accepted for another ones like muses, ideals, friendly way. Not all people is muse, or nice. There are a lot of models who only they want be nice and the others should be down of them, and it is why not people like new models. They are more competitive in stupid way.

I was in a lot of jobs and places where I found girls and women who only want they be nice, and you only can admire them like a dog. I don t like that type of "models".

^ It looks to me like the modeling in the 1980s/1990s was a lot more selective.

The film/TV industry is kind of like that now, too.  The power of a "movie star" is pretty depreciated.  I think part of it has to do with how there are a lot of things to do other than watch movies.  Also the quality of movies/TV shows seems to have greatly deteriated in the past 10-15 + years.

I remember when I watched movies from the 80/90/00s with my mum when I was a kid.

@Cult Icon There are many of the regular posters on this forum (2-3 year ago) that stopped posting for some reason

I never really understood why

In my time on this forum, there were two waves of posters that left.  When I joined in 2010 this forum was extremely social and extremely active.  I heard that in the 2000s it was actually even more active.

I think the downfall of SI and VS (which used to be the biggest topics) is part of it.  I think the first wave completed disappeared at around 2016-2017.

Now it's just a couple of us that are left.   From what I observed a lot of huge posters left all of a sudden, for perhaps personal reasons.

Hmm, I see. That's sad.

It's just the last of us now.

This is how I feel about all the posters that I had good (and even not that good) interactions with. (and are now gone) : I love you all!

I have the same approach to all those people that I will probably never see again in real life, my memory emphasizes the good.
