Wow, this is great for David. I grew up with this guy! I've known him since the 9th grade in high school, and we both talked about joining the wrestling team. We also started working out with weights together.

I remember when we would walk to Washington's Gym and when we were too exhausted to walk home, I would have my mom come to pick us up and we'd drop him off. We were best buddies for a while, until I got a girlfriend and got whipped and kind of stopped hanging around with my friends. Then we just parted ways and we didn't see each other for a couple of years, until I ran into him at a club. We caught up a little, and told me about his modeling stint (this was way back in 1992 or 93), and that was pretty much it.

It's funny, because I was just looking at my high schools website just to see who's posted from my graduating class, and then David came to mind and I wondered why he wasn't on there, so I look him up and I couldn't believe what I saw! He's done well for himself, I must say. I'll try to contact him on MySpace or something; hopefully he'll have the time to respond.

Technically, it's not his stage name. I met him way back in 1986 and that was his name. I'm sure the name change had something to do with when he came from Cuba, like many other Cubans claiming political asylum. I know his brother, Fernando, but I never got to meet Joel, unless it was that little bugger running around their apartment when I was there

David is such a great, down to earth guy. Attending a school where we had many snobs, he was never self-centered. He always looked out for me and his friends. I remember vividly when I was involved in a wrestling match, and I was ahead by a couple of points, but my opponent was just about to pin me for the win, and I almost gave up, and out of all the voices there I only heard David's: "Only 20 more seconds! Only a few more!" He wrestled that night, but I cannot remember if he won or not.

lol I could go on and on. I could even tell you the style of clothes he used to wear :evil:
