Berlusconi: I want Ron at AC Milan
AC MILAN are weighing up a summer swoop for Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Serie A club’s owner — controversial Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi — claims he will do whatever it takes to bring the former Manchester United forward to the San Siro.
He said: “I want Cristiano Ronaldo. I dream of having him in our team. I want to buy a champion who can make a real difference.”
Berlusconi is a huge fan of Ronaldo and was seen consoling him following United’s defeat to Barcelona in the 2009 Champions League final.
Ronaldo moved to Madrid in a world record £80million switch two summers ago, but Berlusconi has told Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani to do whatever it takes to sign him.
Berlusconi added: “I have given carte blanche to Galliani.”
Milan are currently top of the Italian league — three points ahead of second place Napoli with seven games to play.
Cristiano Ronaldo: “We have a great chance to reach the semis, but we must play serious football in the return leg”.
After missing last weekend’s league match, Cristiano Ronaldo closed out Tuesday’s drubbing of Tottenham with a low drive for Real Madrid’s fourth goal of the night.
“I am very happy; the whole team is. To win a Champions League quarterfinal match 4-0 against a team like Tottenham is always great”.
“We played well despite playing with one more man during throughout the majority of the game. We took an early lead in the first half, but we weren’t very accurate. We improved in the second and managed to score three more times.”
