Sorry, I usually hate people who jump in just to lecture others, but this whole anorexic thing really bothers me. Just from a male viewpoint, there is nothing sexy or beautiful about women that dangerously thin. That's a personal opinion of course, but even our genes are wired to seek out healthy looking mates, not ones that look like they are about to keel over so you could say it's a primordial instinct as well.

On a professional level, I have worked with more than a few hospitalized girls/women who literally want to kill themselves because they can't look like that. They are heading for the grave anyway, but they want to get there as soon as possible because they can't stand spending another month looking like a "disgusting fattie" like Alessandra Ambrosio rather than a "beautiful" freak like Nicole Richie.

But if I have to add something, Gisele once´ve said something very wise about anorexia - that it´s not just fault of the fashion industry, but also your own families, and I absolutely agree with that. I have had a friend who almost fell in anorexia, but she has real friends and family who supported her, and she healed over very soon....there are always two sides about an issue

I just...it´s not just about fashion, but I won´t disagree that hollywood and fashion has a great deal in this. But not the only...and your friends and family are actually the MOST important part of it all...

Yeah, you're probably right. I'm sorry, didn't mean to go on a rant, but you know how it is sometimes - you just have a bad day and end up venting when you should just keep your mouth shut. Don't take it personally, Nemeside.

And I completely agree with what you said about friends and family being more important than fashion and Hollywood. The people close to you will always be a bigger influence than anything you see on TV or in a magazine. People put way too much blame on others when they should start looking at themselves first.
