Bad-boy rocker Liam Gallagher, who founded superband Oasis with his brother Noel, turned 40 on Sept. 21. Mr. Gallagher’s wild antics make the foibles of the Rolling Stones and the Sex Pistols look like child’s play. Mr. Gallagher, with his new band Beady Eye, performed the Oasis classic “Wonderwall” at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony. The List this week looks at the top 15 crazy moments of Mr. Gallagher’s pop career.
- 15. Pulls out of tour — In 1996, Mr. Gallagher pulled out of Oasis‘ American tour 15 minutes before the plane was to take off to Chicago, claiming he had to go house-hunting. “We’ve got to be out by the weekend,” he said. “I’m not going around touring the U.S. when I’ve got nowhere to live. … I can’t go and look at houses while I’m in America trying to perform for silly … Yanks.”
- 14. Dandruff or cocaine? — In an interview with Q magazine last year, Liam Gallagher, at one time known for using cocaine, said a fan once snorted his dandruff, mistaking it for the drug after he performed at Glastonbury. He said he suffered from psoriasis.

Oasis was forced to cancel the final leg of the band’s European tour after the fight. Mr. Gallagher was arrested for kicking a policeman in the chest and escaped time in prison by paying a large fine.
