Fans of the 1995 BBC series with Colin Firth and book purists don't really like it that much.

I like the setting, backdrops, production values and the entire cast, especially Keira K.

For me, it's more than that, I find the character that Keria plays in P & P to be attractive. Socially smart, witty, possessed with goodness, very curious, and so honorable that she can reject a billionaire if she thinks that he is a bad person... kind of an impossible character, albeit I am sure that women like this do exist in small numbers. Keria is in other period pieces but I don't find her as attractive as she plays women with less goodness (like in the Duchess). Also she was around 20 years old in this film and at peak beauty.

Another attactive one to me is Jennifer Connelly in a beautiful mind. Kind of an impossible character if you think about it, a lot of women would leave their man if he is in this condition and also Jennifer is a beauty queen:

Can you imagine your husband has got schizophrenic, how could be it?

The place I live there are a lot of not submissive girls, but too rebels or impossitive. They seem live in groups: now all we go out to dinners, now we are cookers, now we are sleavers, now we are mothers, now we are all lovers... To me, a lot of rebel people putting their rules and doing poor society with their own focus, don t letting the others be people, humans, in some ways. I think be rebelious in bad ways, mike Afganistan women against cannibals, or women who doesn t marry for money, or women who doesn t want be only sex slavers is ok, but some nowaday rebel people did more pain that hippies, may 68 students or feminist protest educate movement.

To me, be proud is very stupid thing. People who are proud are not interesting to me, they lose their attractive.

Bridget Jones is some special rebel heroine, do you like it?

I've never seen Bridget Jones Diary except for some clips.

What is attractive to me is if the woman comes across as wife material in personality and physically beautiful. If she has traits that are opposite of wife material then she becomes less attractive.

Some of these are certainly not traits that are admired in pop culture and feminism.

I prefer interesting men, and more human, not only wanting cooker or lover or mum, and value interesting rich funny life too, not only clothes or appearences, some quotidiane families are more interesting and comfortable too, not only live in superficial and acting way.

I think you misread what I wrote. I meant "wife material". In english this means a woman with traits of a good wife. This does not mean a "materialistic wife" : D

I find selfish women utterly unattractive, that is the opposite of wife material. In pop culture selfish women are being praised..
