Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain is satisfied with the pace at which his injury is healing.
Higuain has been sidelined with a back-injury since the early part of December.
The Argentinean has been Real's top-scorer for the past two seasons and his absence has seen the mantle of goal-scorer fall heavily on Cristiano Ronaldo - who is carrying a few niggles himself.
Thus, coach Jose Mourinho will be pleased to hear the striker is making a speedy recovery.
In comments quoted by Marca, Higuain said: "My treatment is progressing at a good pace and I hope to be back playing as soon as possible. But with this injury I need to be patient.
"I feel fully integrated in Real. I had to work and fight a lot to achieve where I am today, and I want to go on in this squad to win many titles."
Real are currently two points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona.
Gonzalo Higuaín will return to Spain from Argentina on Jan. 3, and by Jan. 10, we’ll know whether he needs to be operated on or not for his herniated disc. Pipita has said that his recovery is going well and that he’s better but also asked for patience.
