Victoria’s Secret to Bring Back Annual Fashion Show After Five-year Hiatus With Runway, ‘Iconic’ Wings and Redefined Company Era
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is back in 2024, the lingerie retailer announced on Wednesday.
“We’ve read the comments and heard you,” a post to the company’s Instagram reads. “The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is back and will reflect who we are today, plus everything you know and love — the glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment and more. Stay tuned…it only gets more iconic from here.”
After canceling the annual television special in 2019, Victoria’s Secret returned to the small screen last year with “The Victoria’s Secret World Tour.” Airing on Prime, the documentary highlighted the VS20, a group of 20 global creatives who conceived custom looks for the brand’s runway models.
“This film is the ultimate expression of the Victoria’s Secret brand transformation,” Raúl Martinez, executive vice president and head creative director of Victoria’s Secret, said at the time. “It will be driven by fashion, glamour and entertainment with a nod to beloved iconography from the past but in a bold, redefined way. We are so honored to offer our platform and have it explored through the lens and artistry of global creatives who celebrate the individuality of women’s stories and perspectives.”

The film represented a new era for Victoria’s Secret, which was plagued with accusations of workplace toxicity amid the burgeoning #MeToo movement.
Ed Razek, the Fashion Show’s longtime chief marketing officer, left the company in 2019 after receiving backlash for his stance on refusing to hire plus-sized or transgender models. A 2020 expose in the New York Times further exposed Victoria’s Secret’s alleged “culture of misogyny, bullying and harassment.”
A date for the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has not yet been announced, though it was confirmed that the event will return in the fall.

After all the shit I've talked for over a decade... The show needs Lima, even if just for the laughs. The lack of personality or charm in the new crop of spokesmodels is so blaringly obvious when you watch the 03-07 shows.

Not gonna lie, I am hyped for this because it feels like they really are trying to go back to their roots. I'm sure none of us will love the whole casting, but we never did anyway so whatever.
Well shit, I'm months(?) late to discovering woke VS is trying to bring back the old fashion show. Why does it feel like it probably won't live up to its predecessors' hype tho.
Also, biotch, if they're gonna use Sui's Goddess' wings to promote the wing, they better bring her back, although frankly speaking... Sui is starting to look her age these days.
