I just rewatched and i think red segment suited better for opening the show, maybe they switched the last minute and that would make sense with Candice’s attitude. However, i liked this show more than few last ones.

I really liked there were no performers in the opening segment! I hope they keep it this way if they are to make another show next year!

Candice and Behati were together in the finale. Ale and Adri to me were never really friends  or that's what it always looked like to me. But that's ok, I'm not friends with most of my collegues, but we are very respectful and nice to each other!

 

I was surprised I didn't see Candice with her "gang" much (Joan, Irina, Doutzen) I think definetly something happened with her, she was pisssssssed.

I rewatched the finale. Alessandra and Adriana weren't even together . Alessandra and Isabeli together. Adriana by herself. Behati trailed behind Candace, don't know if we can call that together. JoJa + Taylor. Doutzen by herself.

Man, we only had 8 angels watch this year's show. + Tyra who probably left way too long ago for me to consider her angel. Maybe a few more angels of an older generation that I don't know. I'm not one to talk about models and their drama, but all the talks about Candace having an RBF then seeing her walk by herself during the finale is ???. 

Edit: Forgot there's Grace and Barbs lmao.

This is actually a popular opinion that many people have online in various social media platforms or forums which makes her push to be the new face or focus of VS questionable. People have their favorites and soft spots for certain models and make claims for why people are upset that she opened but everyone can believe what they choose to believe on that one. Men lie. Women lie. Numbers don't. 

Her walk compared to everyone else who opened the show is questionable.

It made it even more obvious when multiple accounts and usernames shared previous models who opened the show how questionable her placement in VS is at the moment. Someone posted Gisele's opening in 2005 and it made it more questionable...

It is all "questionable."

I did not recognize that was Bella. She looked even more different from the last time I saw her.

It would be amazing if they brought it back but with body/racial/age diversity

I guess I expected Candice to open because they used her for promo when they announced the comeback of the show. It's true it's a new era. I just think that Gigi is not the best pick as the main face and her opening being panned is one of several reasons why.

What should have VS done for the 2024 show to make it better? I'm honestly curious about this because after seeing the rather lukewarm reception, I have wondered what they chould have done in order for the show to get raving reviews. Would be glad if more people answered this question.

When it comes down to it, most of our opinions about the show means very little to VS b/c the majority of us here are not in their key demographic nor are we consumers/customers of the brand. VS is a business and the main thing they care are profits. Considering there was a slight jump in their shares the day after the show and it does seem they are selling a decent amount of the pieces featured on the show, I would say most of our [negative] opinions hold very little weight. Sure. they could consider the different opinions and feedback to help them improve and do better in the future. However, when it comes down to it, money talks and it's what matters the most.
