The Mets are starting to bury Braves who are now 11 games back in the NL East.

David Wright made a beautiful diving play to save at least one run in the 8th inning against the Phills. He also the leading vote getter for all NL third baseman in the All-Star balloting.

Yep, 11 games. I've never seen them play this poorly -- and I'm loving every second of it.

I'm a Met fan and even I didn't vote for him. Here are my choices:

NL

C: Piazza

1B: Pujols

2B: Giles

SS: Renteria

3B: Wright

OF: Griffey Jr., Beltran, Andrew Jones

AL

C: Posada

1B: Ortiz

2B: Cano

SS: Jeter

3B: Alex Rodriguez

OF: Ichiro, Ramirez, Guerrero

stupid sox. typical Papi. 0-3, then with the game on the line, they IBB him to get to Manny (lucky they got him out), then 2 innings later he gets his one hit and wins the game.

1-4, GWRBI.

The Red Sox swept the Mets. Why is life so cruel? :|

Red Sox to Mets =

Me =

Those three games were about the worst set of games that they have played this season. They looked overmatched and played terribly. Now we head into the Subway Series on a downer.

Not quite '86. Granted, this was a big series but not that big. It was more of a measuring stick for the Mets.

actually, 86 was when the Mets had their longest winning streak, I think.

not that I'm a Mets fan, I just don't like the Sox. and not like I have a team anyway

I don't.

He was great in his prime but now he is just a shell of what he once was. He's still one of my favorite Mets though. I made mistake with that All-Star list. My vote went to Utley at 2B and not Giles.
