Well yeah, I knew what you meant . But at least it was creative, I guess (Y) . I never thought about why they call them the Lakers come to think of it . But yeah, Upper Merion? Sounds cool. Do you think he'll get his first MVP this year? Or better yet, a fourth title?

If the Lakers win the west, yes.

Though, as much as I love the Lakers, I would actually above all love for someone new to win it all this year.

The Lakers are called that way because they were originally a franchise located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Hence the "Lake" connection.

They just kept the name when they moved the franchise to California.

So if the play-offs started today, this is how the match-ups would look like in the West:

Lakers-Warriors

Spurs-Suns

Rockets-Mavs

Jazz-Hornets

All of those would have the potential of going for 6-7 games.

Rockets-Mavs would be incredibly close on all fronts.

Well, they made it to 22 And if you ask me, even with all this talk about the West this year, the best 2 teams in the NBA are in the East. Well at least the best is. Celtics really something special. And if nobodies noticed, the third hottest team in the league right now is my Sixers 19 and 5 and 10 out of the last 11. Beating people like the Pistons and Spurs

What are you guy's desire for the championship win ? Of course a Laker's win is never a bad thing , but I kinda want the Suns to win so Nash and Stoudemire don't become the next "yeah but..." duo , plus I just love the Suns, but overall, I would love to see any deserving fresh faces get it (whether that is a franchise, a player or players or all of the above) since they'll probably enjoy and savour it the most . But here are my favorite performances of this year so far...

I'd love to see a team that hasn't won in a while....sure the Spurs and Lakers are awesome teams, dont get me wrong...but would LOVE to see the Suns go all the way and win...Nash is deserving of it, as are the rest of his teammates....as for other teams, i'd love Houston to go to the finals too....coach Adelman was the Sac Kings coach for many seasons and he got them to so many play-offs (i'm a sac kings fan lol, but i must admit, they've gone downhill..nothing can compare to their "dream team" of 2001-2002)....and they've done really well WITHOUT Yao Ming there....and to win 22 straight was incredible...if i were to choose between the Suns or the Rockets, i'd have to go with the Suns!!

Well, at-least the 76ers seem to be on the verge or improovement. I really like their intensity and the way they played defense in the games I've seen them in this year. And I really like Samuel Dalembert as well . Overcoming the Celtics or Pistons would take a HUGE effort (maybe even a miracle, but it's not impossible...), and I think you guys have a pretty decent chance against the Raptors and maybe even to surprise the Cavaileers and Magic .
