Bah to no Summer tournament.

If you squint your eyes a bit, the current under-21 championship could be a major tournament. The Spanish are as easy on the eye as their senior counterparts and England are as tactically inept, technically inferior and generally crap as theirs.

U-17 World Cup is on too.

U-21, U-17, Gold Cup and Women's World Cup, EURO12 qualifiers and Copa America. That's a lot of football.

Liverpool closing in on Adam. Apparently Kenny offered a snack machine £8m for a Yorkie and an IRN-BRU the other day.

I don't get it - how on earth did River Plate manage to get themselves relegated from the Argentine Primera Division (for the first time in their 110-year history, no less) off the back of finishing 4th in the Apertura and 9th in the Clausura?

Is someone in the media playing some sort of cruel trick on me? Apparently, we've signed a highly rated young striker, a midfielder who scored 11 Premier League goals last season and a wide player known for his quality delivery from set pieces. Yeah, right! Whatever next? A specialist left-back?

I love your new avatar.

And assuming you watched that show upon its original broadcast, you are showing your age.

I actually got into the show through the re-runs, though I am old enough to have remembered it first time around.

They released the box set DVDs of Daria. I was so excited

Who have Sunderland signed? All I heard about was Connor Wickham and I have no idea who he is. We were linked to him though.

Still no sign of a UK DVD release. Eternal shame on whoever is putting the blockers on it!

Wickham's an 18-year-old striker from Ipswich and a current England under-21 international. Looks pretty good from what I've seen, and appears to have all the ingredients to make it in the Premier League - pace, size, brute strength, touch, finishing - though of course, it's still very early days. In all honesty, I doubt we've bought him for any other reason than to sell for a profit in a couple of years, but if he should happen to do well for us in the meantime - great.

Plus four other arrivals in the past week - Craig Gardner and Seb Larsson from Birmingham, Kieran Westwood from Coventry and a South Korean striker by the name of Ji-Dong Won, who I believe is one for the future.

It sure is a pity how the latter half of Owen Hargreaves' career has turned out thus far. In an effort to prove his fitness to potential new clubs, he's resorted to posting YouTube vids of himself running around cones and suchlike. Hard not to feel for the guy.

True, I feel the same way with Agger too.

The one exercise I don't get is this one

Found this though and it explains everything

I've seen probably half the games so far. Isn't the women's game more popular than the men's in the States?

Sign her up, Brucey.

Nope, maybe when everyone was on the bandwagon when they won a decade ago.

Hey there guys Missed me?

To be honest I missed this place a little.

Rather a quite off-season so far. I was expecting bigger moves. But I guess the big waves will come towards the end.

Pool signed Roma's Keeper Doni, and Roma has targeted Espanyol's Kameni as a replacement. I like the moves Roma is making. They're trying to create a mini-Barcelona (though that's quite a mission impossible, i'm sure they'll be fun to watch.)

I also like the moves of my beloved Juve, but I don't like Aguerro playing great in Copa America. He was almost a lock to come to Juve, but this will raise his price, and Chelsea will be there to spoil our transfer. :anger:

Manyoo signing Young is also one of the better moves of the season.

Bayern fans booed Neuer in a training. WTF???

And boy, what a huge disappointment Neymar is. Lol at Santos wanting 45 mil for him. Loved it when Perez said "this kid is not even worth 15 mil."

P.S.: Cesc/Barcelona rumors have become ubber-boring. What's this the 4th straight year??

I don't get it - how on earth did River Plate manage to get themselves relegated from the Argentine Primera Division (for the first time in their 110-year history, no less) off the back of finishing 4th in the Apertura and 9th in the Clausura?

That was a shocker for me, too. The funny thing is in Argentina they take a look at the overall record in the last 3 years. The funnier thing is, this rule was put in place to protect the bigger clubs. It's even more shocking that they were having bad seasons for 3 consecutive years. When I heard that River Plate was relegated I was like "La puta que te pario. . .", but I'm pretty sure they'll get back pretty soon.
