Nate's roommate told him that you can tell I love him just from the way I look at him. ![]()
And yes, it's the best feeling in the world.

that is soooo sweet! have you ever been inlove before?
and it's def. the best feeling in the world ![]()

Monika, I think I've seen that picture before. It looks like a girl from Livejournal that I used to kinda sorta know three or four years ago. She called herself Tess. That photo looks exactly like one from one of her photo sets I've seen before. I'm actually friends with her good friend. Hm...
i looooved tess. but she disapeared
she has a journal but never updates anymore. she is so pretty!

Definitely very pretty girl.
I haven't talked to her or read her journal since she kinda "disappeared", though.
i found her through fotki.com back when she was like #1 on the most viewed then she gave me her journal link. but it's been a long time since she's posted ![]()

Yeah, I remember her being #1 on Fotki. I was, like, #10 or something a long, long time ago ... like ... four or five years ago.
To me, love is when you can be around someone that is throughly annoying to everyone else but you still think of them with fondness. Be away for more than an hour and want to go back to them, think about them all the time and know in your heart that they do the same for you.
I need a man right now. I hate singleness! AHHHHH!

good decision...
if you were in Star Wars you'd definitely be a Sith Lord huh?

I just want to know what people think:
Is love something over and above our feelings; is it just a mixture of certain feelings or is it something else completely?
I would just like to know what other people think. Sorry the question isn't worded very well, but I'm tired and can't really be bothered thinking. Hopefully people will get the gist of what I'm asking... ![]()

I was curious because some people think of it as a thing (for the lack of a better word) that is supposed to be all-conquering and enduring etc. That's what I meant by the whole 'over and above' thing. Although now that I think about it, the 'over and above' and the 'mixture' questions don't have to be mutually exclusive do they?
OK, maybe I should start thinking about things more before I post, because I just realised that I've described two qualitatively different phenomena.
I'm lost now... :lost:
Basically I think what I'm tryin to say is, how do you know you're in love? For example, suppose most of your friends have partners, and you end up getting along very well with another friend (person A) that is single. You have a lot to talk about, you have a lot in common, you find each other's presence comforting and you have a strong friendship; If you think you're in love, how would you know? Could you differentiate it from a strong friendship?
Suppose now that none of your friends had partners. If you shared that "special relationship" I was describing above to another person, person B, who once had a partner but not anymore (assuming everything else is equal), would you be in love with the new person now? If not, what makes person A more special than person B?
If you shared that relationship with another person that is not available, maybe a person that has a partner, or a person of the same sex (assuming the hetero thing), that wouldn't be love (in most cases, due to social politics). But why?
By the way, the "love" I'm using does not include loving your siblings or parents etc. That's different. I'm talking about the love you feel with your partner.
I'm just typing out random crap now... ![]()
Tell me if it doesn't make sense because I'll try to explain myself more clearly...

not again... <_<
pip?! ![]()

it doesn't make sense because i didn't read it
..it's too long!!!
Plus that and the fact that I don't know what love is! ![]()
According to a research published by Cornell University in 1999, love really is just a drug.
To be precise, love is a cocktail of dopamine, phenylethylamine & oxytocin in the bloodstream, which causes chemically-induced form of insanity (infatuation). This condition lasts until the body builds an immunity to the substances involved, which is usually just long enough to meet, mate and raise a child to early infancy.
I thought this would be fitting for this thread.
Strapping Young Lad-Love
March!
Love is a way of feeling
Love is a way of feeling less alone
So what's all the fuss about?
Fuck it
Love - the paradox of needing
Love - make way for breeding
Oh, give it to me, give it to me
Fuck you and your fuckabouts
I know what I stand for
I stand for me
I'll wait 'till the night has come
So far, suicide at home
For I'm not the man you know
This love is about control
Oh what a feeling
Oh what a feeding
Know the chosen ones
Are here
ALL HAIL
I'll wait 'till the night has come
So far, suicide at home
For I'm not the man you know
This love is about control
Oh, you fucker
All in the name of love
All in the name of love
All in the name of love
All in the name of live...

Triangular theory of love
To me, love is when you can be around someone that is throughly annoying to everyone else but you still think of them with fondness.
I call that stupidity and ignorance.
