whys irina's hair always look like shes just done shagging? guess that goes along with her appeal.

btw nice seeing Lucy from A Model Life in this issue. i always thought shed make it into SI. she used to come to bz too.

And remember in the first episode the guy who is in-charge of NEXT picked Lucia b/c she is versatile. He said something like, "She can do high fashion and Sports Illustrated." Hmmm...

I totally agree that the 00's have not been great for SI. I've been really disappointed since 2006 because even though I hated the cover, it had my favorite set of rookies (Brooklyn Decker, Carla Campbell, Alina Nakashima, Pania Rose, and :heart: Yesica Toscanini :heart: ), and they've ditched them all except for Brooklyn within two years.

...After all, there were 20 models last year but only 19 so far for this year, and it's just too suspicious that Selita and ABB are suddenly not in the issue.

Perhaps the 20th "model" isn't a model at all

If it's not Bar on the cover, I predict that:

1. Brooklyn/Irina/Tori or Daniella will be on the cover

2. They will copy the shot done for the cover of another Sports Illustrated from 2000-2007

i want Brooklyn or Tori to get the cover.

I have to say, I've just had a look over the past swimsuit issues and their model content... and it's made me a little blue! I think half of the models in the issue this year would have been considered not good enough for the magazine even in the early 90's.

I mean, think about it, SI used to have so many gorgeous, amazing models to choose from, they didn't even get around to putting LAETITIA CASTA on the cover!! Or Steph Seymour! Or Cindy Crawford!

Can you imagine if either Casta or Seymour or Crawford were in their prime today and up against these girls for the cover? I think we would all know who was going to get it!

I'm probably being so negative and stressy, sorry, I'm just SO desperate for this new cover to rock and look amazing!

I'm also really dismayed watching todays video at the amount of girls who were naked, not even WEARING swimsuits! I hate that. I love that SI is sexy ( although I don't like the FHM sex they keep projecting recently), but it's the SWIMSUIT ISSUE! They should at least have bikini bottoms on, IMO.

but from that list I think only Bar or Hilary should get the cover. I think Hilary could do an amazing cover and bring lots of attention to it! plus she's American!

I was saying basically the same thing in Marisa's thread the other day. But you don't even have to go back all the way to the 90s - even the early 2000s had far more star power. I wonder if it's coincidence or SI's decision that no previous covermodel is appearing in this issue.

Anywho... SI.com linked to a site that offers betting odds as to who will get the cover. Brooklyn is the clear favorite.

I personally miss all the Czech bombshells (Petra,Daniela,Veronika) in the early 00's I think were the last good issues

I like the idea of whoever said a foldout with all the girls for the cover! i know that won't happen, but it would be sexy!

I think Bar will get the cover, but like someone else said I wouldn't mind Hilary. I think she would look great on a cover. Irina would too

edit- did not mean to put every single girl, but a few would be nice. also a foldout would not cheapen the magazine imo. vogue has done foldouts before and I like it. group shots are good by me

^ The fold out cover might sound cute ( very cute!), but it would totally ruin SI.

Part of the allure of the swimsuit issue from a modeling perceptive is that the cover is a prize position. Something you aspire to. If all of the girls got it ( and many of them being rookies) it would cheapen it, IMO. It would take away the prestige completely.

I wouldn't want it to be ALL of them on a spread cover but I just want it to be something new, something exciting and innovative. I'm with others about it being all about boobs lately. Boobs do not make a model the most sexy, not by a long shot. There is nothing left to the imagination with cheesecake-type pictures. The idea that it has to be a girl with big boobs and the accent on them is really a very immature attitude, IMHO. I find the covers from the past that have been so darn good have been the ones that have had the girls in a hot suit, not baring it all...just really, really ROCKIN' the suit. Again, leave something to the imagination. I just want to get back to a semblance of class, not cheesy stuff. I'm sooooooo over that and I think tons of the polls on here show that many others are sick :yuckky: of the shots/girls who only have that to give, who can't do anything else except put the sex shots to the front of the line. It's soooo boring and sooooo yesterday. Also, I get tired of people saying that HF girls shouldn't be in the mag. Why not? Because their fave can't get jobs in HF? hmmmmmmm

To sum up, let's have something new, while getting back to the type of years past.

i always thought they had awesome covers for the most part...i loved heidi's cover it's amazing, varekova was hot, elle in the black one piece, christy brinkley...and miss TYRA's cover...and even though i'm not a big fan of C murphy i loved the picture of her and daniela pestova's was sexy.

It's funny that you talk of lack of class when you yourself are willing to stoop to such insinuations. Yes, we know you want Tori Praver on the cover. There's no need to disparage the kind of models the public wants to see in order to try to validate your opinion.
