If I may, I would suggest to the Tomb with the "God Aweful Music" thread .

There's just no good that can come of that and not much good coming of it .

I assume you are referring to that deOliveira character's (borderline) racist comments. Those are distasteful, but deleting the entire topic over that seems like overkill to me.

New members have not been receiving the validation email. And [old] members who have recently changed their email address have not been receiving the confirmation email either

this is very important...and it is still not working...i looked at the email setup...nothing has been changed so i'm not sure what's prompting this problem

It seems like everytime we update/upgrade the forum a new problem arises

If you guys don't mind, can we have a little discussion about the pics wider than 600 pixtel rule? It seems that it isn't a very well known rule and consequently too widespread to keep up with , not necessarily overtly disrespectful offenders per se, but generally law abading citizens of BZ, if you will . A lot of people know about the pics side by side for whatever reason, but...and I'm not necessarily referring to 608, 612 mind you as much as 1000x800 .

Do we...

A) Just enforce it in threads that we post in.

B) Make it somewhat of a grace .

C) Send a message to all members (however that is done) asking them to try to observe said rule.

D) Just enforce the pics side by side

E) Something else

With the most recent version of the board, it should automatically resize image(s) over 600px. However, before it resizes, it uploads the the image(s) full size and then resizes. So it still slows down the processing of the image(s) either way. With that said, I think we should post a reminder/announcement and enforce the rule.

BTW, I sent a bulk email to all members about reviewing the rules. I don't think any of them got it Perhaps I will post an announcement to review the rules. That should cover the image size issue

Should resize automatically as pinky said. I woudlnt waste too much effort on doing anything or deleting. Just tell em to buy a faster computer

You have edited my most because you thought that there was hotlinking : it is wrong. Those pictures own to me and the blog as well. I do not upload to the regular images host because i don't like their too explicit adult ads. It is the reason, I upload on my own on Skydrive.

Do you allow me to continue to post with those links?

sorry for the inconvenience, the issue we have is when the thumbnails aren't from an image host site, but a regular site, we are leaching from their monthly server bill, but could you explain a little more about what your site is ? if i made a mistake, excuse me .

The pictures are uploaded on Skydrive which is a service provide by Windows Live when you have an account. They allow you to upload 25GO of files and there is no traffic limit. They just ask to not upload pornography or nudity or whatever illegal. The avantage of this Microsoft service is there is no dowtime and the loading of picture is fast. I've tried already once Imagebam : I have about 2000 pictures on their servers. But like Imageshack, they are not reliable : Pictures are often unreachable. Go to support forum : there are always complains about it.

PicsLibraries is a blog i have create to display pictures i have upload on Skydrive. Each page display only one pic like a classic imagehost. And the few ads are from Adsense : nothing dirty, nothing intrusive.

I do everything manually : it is a really hard job. Believe me. I have to grab thumbs on Skydrive, create pages on PicsLibraries one by one (Blogger allow 50 posts per day : more you have word verification to avoid spam), link one by one thumbs to those pages...

All those works for only 1 gallery per day :-). I don't care the pain if I can have a beautiful page on my blog! Come on on my blog : http://mypicperday.blogspot.com or http://scansmasters.blogspot.com. You will have an idea of what I'm talking about.

My Blogs are only related to beautiful pictures of women : real or virtual, but always clean.

I used to post on BZ but with Shareapic host : I regret it now. It is the reason I've tried Imagebam. And now I do myself. I'm not a great webmaster but i can code a bit. Damn of me, i don't know how to use mysql databases to automate my work .

I may have removed some pics I thought were hotlinks, but this member says its from her own imagehost or something, I don't know what to say . If its non-profit does it fit in with those listed ? What does the staff say ?

The hosts listed are just examples. Members can pretty much use any non-profit host they want. Skydrive is ok

If she is hotlinking from her own blog I guess it is ok But is that considered to be her personal domain???
