i set mine to ipb default cuz this new skin is :yuckky: closed my window and reopened it and its at the ipb default still

That's because I changed the default back to what it was, now we don't have the problem with the skin reverting to the new default skin Ronin installed, when ever you leave the forum. But it also seems that some people are still having to change their skin to the IPB default skin, even though it is the set default automatically. *shrug*

I think it must be just some small bug, or something.

ok heres the problem capt the only reason why this thing is installed is so that the guests see the nice version of the forum

with it being default i tested it a bit last night and u should still be able to change and KEEP the one u like

When that skin is set to default, I am able to change my skin, but it does not stay selected, it automatically reverts back to that skin whenever I leave. If I go to Yahoo, and then come right back here without logging out, it changes right back to that default, which it shouldn't. If I log out and do the same thing, I come back, it is the tower default, and stays the tower default even after I have logged in. It is not keeping my setting when that is the default skin. I do not want to have to reselect my forum skin every time I leave and come back.

The reply buttons and edit buttons are also missing, moiselles experienced this problem as well, which is because of that glitch you mentioned, but how many people that are coming here, do not know how to change there skin, so that they can post and let us know that their buttons are missing as well? Which is why I changed the default back to the IPB skin, because using the other skin, some users are unable to post, which should probably be fixed before making that our permanent default skin.

The colors aren't so much what bothers me now, as it's inability to be compatible with all users.

If it is intolerant to someones resolution, that should be your first sign something is up. I'm running 1024x768 on my comp, and 800x600 on my moms comp, and the buttons show up on neither. I've tried everything to get them to show, but they won't. I even lowered my res down, and up and there is no change.

You mentioned the glitch with the size of the forum, I'm pretty sure that is the problem, because the buttons are there but they are not within the forum borders, if that makes sense. Like, I can see the edge of the Fast Reply button, and that is it. What are Neo and your screen resolutions?

Maybe we should set it back, as you had it, and see what people say, and exactly what problems they are having. For the people who have the same problems I am experiencing with it, they will just have to deal with it for a moment. Although I think, a skin that is more compatible with everyone, would be more welcoming.

the size thing wasnt a glitch but neo just wanted a skin that was bigger so i told him i would alter it but i havnt found out where in the code of this skin to find that

the size is fine on the other skin.

Hmmm, something is causing it to cut a bunch of stuff off on the right side of the forum, but the only thing that would affect me personally would be the skin I choose not staying set while using that skin as default. Because if I'm not using the default, then I don't have any of it's problems, but then there are those people that have the same problems as me, which so far I only know of moisselles having the buttons missing. So maybe it's fine for most other people as it is for you guys. I don't know.

I agree with neo though, that the skin would look better if it were wider, like the IPB default, instead of the thinner version it is now, that probably will solve the button problem, as well as the other things which have been cut off. So if you find that, that may solve that problem at least. As long as no one else is experiencing the reverting forums problem like I have, then everything else would be good, I would think.

Just wanted you guys to see, here are a few examples of what I am seeing when I use that skin, and I think if you can find a way to make it wider like the other skins, it may correct this problem somewhat.

Yeah, that's how it should look for me. <_< Have you tried lowering your res to 1024, to see if it fucks anything up?

I notice that all of the other skins that are similar in design and width, do not seem to give me that problem, just this one.

Ronin, it is unacceptable that you go around and change the skin to one of your liking without the input or participation of other admins. If you want to do something as drastic as changing the skin and have many functions not even work correctly or for it to chop off the width of the columns it is unnacceptable. Other admins were kind enough to calm me down and not remove your privlages to do major changes. Rigth now i have set the default back to the default skin. Next time when you want to do something as major as this CONSULT ALL of us. ok?

instead of playing with the skins you could have setup the forbidden competition for this coming month...which is 2 days away.
