How To Get HQ Pictures From Online (PLEASE READ FIRST POST PRIOR TO POSTING)

I don't think it's rude not to reply to a question if we don't know the answer. If you'd read back in the thread, you'd have found it explained that photographers' sites that don't have an obvious zoom function usually don't have any way of getting HQ images. Photographers with websites are internet-savvy, they are not stupid, and they want those who use their pics to pay for them.

Conversely, if you find a site that does offer a zoom function, then people here will be delighted to help you fetch the zoomed images as a single file. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's hard, but generally we will tell you what to do or (for a small selection of images) do it for you.

It's especially nice to help those who are likely to use the images to contribute to the model threads.

Did anyone try my program for Boston Proper? It won't set fire to your computer, I promise! And if we can make such things work, I may be able to make programs for other tiled sites.

If there are problems, please let me know! I'll look for a better host than Rapidshare in future...

as for me, i downloaded java but failed in downloading rapidshare

i trust u but i dont trust in myself or have even the courage to download any program

so iam not bothering u again with the tiling thing, i promise

Worked for me.

But just installing java didn't seem to put it on the path (even though I started a new cmd), so I did:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" Proper P-836292

Do I need to do anything to put it on the path?

I don't see anything wrong with rapdishare.

Obvious improvements:

1) Print what it did (name of image and size).

2) Take a file containing a list of names (one per line, comma-separated or whatever).

As a "wise" guy I didn't try your program because I'm no expert in tiled mosaics. You find us a page with the image on it, we will get you the best quality that can be got. It's useless to give us just the place where the image used to be. It's not there now, and I for one don't have an archive of bare necessities stuff.

Thank you James I had a hard time getting to grips with it cos it was a bit complicated..to be honest I'm still trying to master it successfully just curious would that be the only way to get HQs from Next?

Another method which may be easier is to view the source (in Opera right-cllick -> "Source"), and search for ZoomURL. That first match gives the url in full for the main picture, the following matches give the rest.

I doubt it, because they actually sell pictures, so are unlikely to make high-resolution available.

Mahi, I see somewhere this is the way to make photo bigger. Maybe no Zoom, but something to see much larger better quality image. Some another site, yes he had same pictues much bigger, but no response from him.

I see this topic many ways how people can see bigger image. I think so. I wait more. Maybe someone will know. I think there is way.
