The actors have visuably aged by then- Hardy's face has hit the wall lol.

This project appears to be somewhat of a vanity project too; I get the impression that Hardy wants it be 'his own' and the best acting he's ever done.

They could just use de-aging. In small doses it looks quite decent. It's why Tom Cruise never really ages on screen lol It looked good on Hayden Christensen in Ahsoka for example.

The Ashoka Hayden looks like he aged somewhat since Return of the Sith- although much better than he looks now.   The AI seems to have not been able to get rid of some the heavier wrinkles.

Tom Hardy looks like this now (the other was him in TABOO).  Tom Cruise is looking good.  So is Putin lol.  They may have had some work done too.

Not sure if you've seen it but in the show S1 ended in a cliffhanger.

It could be that they continue where they left off or they opted for something like 10, 15 years later or something.
