My husband rarely takes time off...I can't stress how big of a workaholic he is, and I'm good with that. I like my space, so seeing him 4 days a month is great for me. We aren't needy people. It's why we've been married 24 years, if I had to see him every day I'd pull my hair out lol. Thanksgiving is the one holiday he loves, so this week becomes his “holiday season” for the entire year. He’ll be home for five days, which means all of our festive traditions need to happen now. During this week, he’ll open his Christmas gifts, enjoy both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, and finish his Christmas shopping. His whole family is here, along with mine and his closest friends from Seattle.
I always go the extra mile for him at Thanksgiving, because once this week ends I won’t see him again until after Christmas, and his family won’t see him until next year, they’re just as busy with work as he is. On November 30th, the day before he returns to work, we’ll celebrate together: he’ll open his gifts, we’ll go ice skating (its a tradition for us), finish up the last of the shopping, and visit Krampus (its something he does for me), and then Santa.
Turkey - Tomorrow.
Sunday - Lamb/Lobster/Crab (he loves lamb, and I love seafood)
