I miss the days when even their white walls were appealing.

Right!! I went into VS last night to find something sexy (ended up getting the picture I've linked here), and they only had 2 choices; the one I bought that I actually love, and another one that was really pretty, but that was all! EVerything else looked like PINK bras on the VS side of the store. PINK actually has cuter and sexier stuff now than VS. They should just leep PINK open if that's what this is going to be like.

403108093_OM_F.jpg Now I like it even more since I see that Candice modeled it!

How is his white wall more alive than all the girls?

@PinkCouture I like that tote.

His white wall are good! I like his energy.

@GlitterAndWings Josephine is so cute and I love her modeling, even what she does for VS (I find VS messes up a lot of models I like somehow). I miss those days, too.

Are they selling men's clothes now, or they will have men modeling women's clothing?

I’m not sure if it is new or just new to us.

Miss Georgina looks great! She’s got a good smolder look.

I think this was shot awhile back but they released it recently. So it is technically "new"

Victoria’s Secret Names Martin Waters as CEO

In addition, parent company L Brands has added a number of senior-level executives to the leadership team to help turn the business around.

Spoiler
Spoiler

Victoria’s Secret parent company L Brands is mixing up its c-suite.

Martin Waters has been named chief executive officer of Victoria’s Secret lingerie, effective immediately. In addition, Laura Miller is now chief human resources officer of Victoria’s Secret; Becky Behringer has been promoted to executive vice president of North America store sales and operations, and Janie Schaffer is chief design officer of Victoria’s Secret lingerie.

“The board and I are thrilled by the appointments of these talented leaders with demonstrated records of execution,” Sarah Nash, chair of L Brands’ board of directors, said in a statement. “With their collective expertise and working together alongside the entire leadership team at Victoria’s Secret, we will continue to drive the business forward and reposition it for success.”

Waters, who joined L Brands in 2008 as head of the international division, succeeds John Mehas, who has been in the ceo seat since February 2019. Waters’ résumé includes a stint at Boots International, the U.K.-based health and beauty retailer, where he served as managing director.

Nash called Waters “an exceptional leader” who is “widely respected both within and outside of the business.” He also has experience in strategic planning, merchandising, planning and allocation, brand management, marketing and supply chain operations, the company said.

Waters will report to Stuart Burgdoerfer, interim ceo of Victoria’s Secret and chief financial officer of L Brands.

Miller, meanwhile, has more than 30 years experience working in human resources. Before L Brands, she served as chief human resources officer of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, as well as chief human resources officer at ADT, the security company, and held human resources positions at Coca Cola Refreshments and Raytheon Company, the defense contracting firm.

Behringer has been with Victoria’s Secret since 2002, holding a variety of roles, including senior vice president of store operations at Victoria’s Secret, store manager and regional manager.

“Becky’s deep knowledge of our stores organization and the customer will help us deliver success as we approach the holiday season and beyond,” Nash said.

Veteran retailer Schaffer has more than 30 years experience in the industry, specifically in intimate apparel. She is the founder of U.K.-based lingerie brand Knickerbox, which she later sold. Schaffer has also served as director of lingerie and beauty at British retailer Marks & Spencer and head of design for Victoria’s Secret lingerie from 2008 to 2012.

“Janie is a proven leader with a record of creating and repositioning brands and growing profitable sales across international markets,” Nash said.

Victoria’s Secret has been in recovery mode for several years as it tries to mitigate declining revenues. While still the market share leader in the U.S. women’s intimate apparel business, the retailer has seen its market share decline steadily over the last five years. The company controlled 32 percent of the market in 2015, according to Euromonitor International, while as of September, Victoria’s Secret’s share had fallen to 16 percent, according to market research firm The NPD Group.

Mehas, who L Brands recruited from Tory Burch, was brought on last year to help turn the lingerie division around.

In February, L Brands, which also owns the Bath & Body Works business, revealed plans to sell a majority stake of the Victoria’s Secret business — which includes the lingerie, beauty and Pink divisions — to private equity firm Sycamore Partners for $525 million. The deal fell through amid the pandemic.

L Brands later unveiled plans to spin off the Victoria’s Secret business into a private company, leaving Bath & Body Works to be a stand-alone public firm, but has yet to release a solid date.

The company has freed up funds by closing on a joint venture with Next plc for the Victoria’s Secret U.K. business. The deal gives L Brands a 49 percent stake in the venture, while Next owns 51 percent.

Last quarter the majority of company gains were in the Bath & Body Works business. But the lingerie giant did show some signs of improvement — such as updated marketing materials that included plus-size models and less overtly sexy offerings, along with a greater selection of comfort-based styles — helping push the stock up more than 95 percent, year-over-year, after quarterly results were released.

Everything but a new creative team. This direction....the models...the makeup.....that commercial....this brand is below rock bottom. A male model in sweats? Is this fashion nova.....? I simply cannot.

Welp I hope his motto going forward is "Bringing Sexy Back" otherwise I don't see much hope for the brand going forward.

I mean both yeah, but other brands just as VS are moving away from displaying the over top sexiness like from the Michael Bay era.

I lost interest in Taylor a while ago, but she doesn't look good with the short hair. I'm sure I think that just because I'm biased (Edie Sedgwick is the only female I've seen that I like with short hair, and hers is even shorter than Taylors.) I just don't like the bob cut at all, or whatever her haircut is considered. Taylor had really pretty hair, and I like it long obviously. She just is a boring model, so I always forget about her anymore. Same with Romee. I still like Romee's personality, but I always forget about her even though she is so pretty and has a gorgeous smile. I hope she's doing ok with her baby, or if she didn't have it yet, I hope her labor goes well.

I wish Barbara and Grace had more shots for VS, but that were sexy instead of "sleepover in 6th grade" aesthetic they've been going for.

Victoria’s Secret Hires Condé Nast Creative Director Raul Martinez

Spoiler
Spoiler

Anna Wintour’s longtime right hand, creative director at the publisher of Vogue, Vanity Fair and GQ, is joining the lingerie giant as head creative director following the departure of its chief executive, John Mehas, in November. Martinez will continue to be based in New York and begin his new role in January.

Martinez started working with Wintour as early as her first issue for Vogue in 1988, according to the New York Times, and left the magazine in 1995 to start a creative and branding agency. He returned to Vogue as a consultant in 2009, and was named to the corporate head role in 2015.

At Victoria’s Secret, Martinez will report to Martin Waters, the newly appointed head of the lingerie division, and join the company during a crucial period of brand reinvention following years of sales slumps and criticism that its vision of feminine sexuality was out of touch on the #MeToo era.
