I will pretend that ze notion of back-ups is foreign to me. ![]()
So, not wanting to salt ze wound, but how come the drive wont connect to the new computer? ![]()
i dunno, its wierd, it has a complete shit. i think its because im trying to make a main drive a slave drive or something.. i dunno i just want my crap back ![]()

Is the old disk serial ata of parallel ata?
theyre both the sameish i think
and no i didnt not put it together by myself as you can imagine

theyre both the sameish i think
So they both have the smaller, thinner cables and connectors?
Then its probably just the fact that you have to change the jumpers on the old disk. If the old disk was master in your old computer, you'll need to change the jumpers to slave mode.

On second thought, if they are Sata disks, normally changing the jumper settings isn't required on the disks themselves. Most of the master/slave problems related to jumper settings are with IDE disks.
Some sata disks require changing the jumper settings on your motherboard, or some BIOS tweaking.
Assuming your current active disk is a sata, the jumper setting on the motherboard shouldn't be the problem. So probably some setting in your BIOS is flawed.
Demand that who ever sold you your new computer digs through your BIOS settings! ![]()

Oooh, Lee! Just thought of something else. Is the old disk currently connected to your computer?
