Love is something which grows in a relationship between two people. It takes time to change enchantment into a serious feeling. You can only say that you love somebody when you've managed to stay with them despite all quarrels and bad times in general.

oh yeah ... there is something there. We act like we are indifferent to each other to act all cool like... you know, just to show that we are too cool to get mushy. Yet, we've spoken every night on the phone before bed for a year whether it's for hours or just to say goodnight after a rough day. Well I'm in love badly for the first time in my life, it's this girl I've never met, but I know who she is cuz she was in primary school with me, 1 grade up. Since then I've known she loves basketball, as do I, and I've made eye-contact with her a few times, 2 times she saw me outside basketballing with a friend, she looked at me, I looked at her and she smiled at me and I smiled back. Then yesterday I went to a local sports center where basketball matches were underway, she was not playing but she was in the crowd, she was watching her old team. While watching the match at one point she got up to go to the cafeteria to get a drink and while she passed me she looked at me straight in the eye and smiled at me again, as I smiled back. When she came back, she passed in front of me and I was too scared to look at her lol, but a good friend of mine who was there with me, said she was looking straight at me, with the look of a girl seeing something she likes you know, and he would know, he's some kind of love-guru . And after the match she was congratulating her old team and while having a conversation I made eye-contact with her again, 4 times. This is driving me crazy, because honestly, this girl, she is the most gorgeous girl on the planet, not just saying this because I'm in love, if any of you would see her you would find her to be beautiful. I am totally shocked and still cannot believe it, this girl, who could get any guy she wants, digs me? She digs me? She likes me? I am just a normal, reasonable looking guy, I havent had a gf in 5 years, since I was 12 years old lol. No girl has looked at me twice in the past few years, and now the girl of my dreams, beautiful beyond comprehension, does? I will be totally honest: I am scared out of my mind, intimidaded, afraid, petrified. I never ever expected this to happen and now I don't know what to do, my biggest issues being these 2:

- I do not have the balls to go up and talk to a girl, let alone THIS girl

- In my opinion she deserves much, much, better than me

If it wasn't for my friend being there I would have thought I imagined it all but I didn't.

Does anyone have any tips for me, any at all? My friend says I should just go for it, but that's easier said than done, so any tips on approaching this girl, and how to climb up out of this self-esteem pothole I'm in?

About your insecurities, it's normal, a lot of ppl lack self-confidence but others don't see us as we see ourselves ;-) not to mention that there's so must more in someone than just their physical appearance...

I think that'd be really stupid to miss the chance to date that girl just because you're shy so i say: GO FOR IT but if you're shy you don't have to go and talk straight to her, you can find an original way that will allow you to tell her how you feel about her but without actually telling her (is that clear lol ?). Like you can send a friend to talk to her, or more original write "will you date me" on your boxers and flash your ass at her (ok maybe not your boxers ) but the more original your are the more she'll like it...

Also, don't tell her you are in love, that might freak her out (and for what we know, what you feel might not be love after all haha)

I'm pretty sure it is actually, but if it is or not, I do need to do this yeah, my life's been a bit f'ed up for the past few years and when I looked her in the eyes I felt the happiest I had felt in years, probably my whole life (lol I sound so corny) . This has to happen and I'll just see if any opportunity for whatever type of contact with her will arise and make use of the moment the best way I can. The greatest thing that could happen would be that I would be playing bball outside with a friend, and that she would come along with a friend and ask to play 2v2 that would be terrific lol But wel I'll just have to hope to see her again and live the moment, thx dude you did help
