LOTR was gripping to me and i loved it actually. I can't tell you why.

I used to love the old episodes, like the Puffer fish episode of the max powers episode, it is/was a great series, ther'e's no argument of that but here it's rarely on any more except the new episodes which i haven't been too big of a fan of, but overall it's one of the longest running series and had such an impact there's no way one can't like it

I absolutely agree with you although it happens to most of tv series - the first episodes are always the best I wonder if you´ve seen the Firefly series? Here barely someone knows them... and I loved them.

For the most part i agree with you, but the problem is the more you develop something the longer it runs, then the more you want to add to the original vision since you have more creativity, you found something that works, now you wanna tweek it a lil bit. The problem with that is eventually people forget what brought them to the top, or over use it too much (Family Guy) so it's no longer funny.

Sometimes they rely on the brand - like, people love it, have loved it for years, so they rely they will love it just because "it´s Simpsons", e.g. I remember when watching the Red Dwarf, Rimmer, my most favourite character left the series, without him it was kinda... sad and dull, and although it was still funny and I enjoyed it, it was different, worse, than before. But I still watched it, because I loved the series. Then he came back that was like a celebration, lol

I guess they wanted to throw something unexpected in there, plus they had the license to do that, knowing that it was the final wrap up of the story. It gave it such a bittersweet ending. I actually loved the movie - I suppose the best part was how they were finally able to let River 'break out', which they only teased in the series. It's just such a shame that the show was cancelled before they got a chance to explore some of the most interesting aspects in more detail. But yeah, great cast and characters
