Yeah, I know. Just like every place in the world (I think) they're all beautiful to visit as tourist but not so much to live in.
I've always dreamt about going to the USA and its lifestyle is way more innovative and modern in comparison of Italians. At least this is what I see.

I can't say i agree there.
Many places of these world are without any interests IMO...Italy and Firenze especially are not like those at all.
I get you like USA, and the "American Way of Life"-"American Dream" stuff that TV is selling to us all the time. But believe me, Europe, is not that bad ...
USA is not only what we see on tv (the post card) ...That's only my opinion, and believe me i'm not an anti-american lol For long time i was like you, but slowly my mind changed...
But of course, the "soft power" aka the american culture (propaganda) is strong, and it works pretty well, especially on young people like us.
You should be thankful to be born there ! Italy is a great country, with an awesome culture, and way of life too... But i guess i'm what i could call an European Patriot lol

Actually, I agree with you, probably it's just the usual "American Dream" and the way they talk about the US abroad that makes me think like this. But believe me, living in Italy is not that easy either. Yeah, it's a gorgeous place and I particularly love my city but (for example) it doesn't give me the chance to start a job because they all want people with experience and it's not that good to be 26 and jobless, you know. And there is also people who've worked all their life and they can't have enough money to help their families. But like I said, I think this is a common issue, but it still hurts.
And then I see people I know that go abroad and the next day they already have a job, even if they're not experienced.
Not to mention our politics, oh God, don't even make me start.
It makes me crazy!

Well, in a lot of ways. They know how to handle technology while we just try, for instance
And, I don't know, I just think that for the things I like doing and my way of thinking and living, I believe US is more suitable for me. I have to say that I've never been there yet, though it's in my bucketlist, but since I was little and since I started studying American culture, I don't know, I've always had this thought.

Again, you really need to stop believing everything you hear.

It's better if I keep thinking about ONLY visiting it.

Technology eh ? My phone is a Samsung, my laptop is an ASUS, my Tab a Samsung, and my TV a Toshiba
Not to mentione that Apple stuff are build in Asia ...
Lets talk about the Space Shuttle or the F22 -35 programm, who is probably the biggest industrial catastrophe of the 21th century. Or the numerous wars "shows" the US did in the last decades ...
And, i never studied American culture, for that i just had to turn ON the TV or the Net lol So easy eh ?

I really know all these issues, believe me. And nepotism is surely one of the cancer we are suffering right now. But all that won't last for ever... Things have to change, but we have to work for that. Europe always buld its destinty, we have to do it, once again. Paradise on earth doesn't exist ...
Those people you are mentioning often have connections there... but of course, i see what you mean ...Here it's the same...
I can't talk about politic anymore lol

I believe the tech boom is in it's infancy in Italy, right?
What do you like doing that would be much better in the US? Thinking?
What's stopping you from going to the US?
Americans are monolingual and being able to speak & read Italian (other languages too?) could be a useful skill to get a job in the US.

Doom is still one of my dream husbands

Italy is trash, period ![]()

I've got an iPhone, an iPad and an iPod and my pc is a HQ, I guess this makes me a fan of Apple.
but for example there are (as I think in many other places around the world) school with all the latest technologies while here you may find people who freaks out because they don't know how to bold letters on Microsoft Word and I'm not kidding!
But yeah, I guess it's old news for every place in the world, though I've heard very few times bad things about the US (except for Donald Trump and racial issues)

1. Yes, like I just said there are many people who still don't know how to use Microsoft Word, though technology is not that good since I'm seeing more and more children getting bored if they're not playing with their parents' phones and tablets. But it was just an example that I brought up.
2. Knowing a lot of people because I think they're more friendly with people who speak other languages and they try their best to be understood if they find someone who doesn't speak english. While here in Italy yeah we try to be friendly with foreign people but most of the time we would just ignore them.
3. Yes and they don't care about experience because they help you. Here, instead, you have to be good with languages and be experienced like "hey, I'm experienced by nature, you know?"
I'm sooooo sorry about the off topic and fuss about it!
