So, I watched Elementary. He's no Benedict Cumberbatch, which I'm sure he's pointedly trying not to be, but he's also not really Sherlock Holmes either! It will be interesting to see what the cases will be like and how much more they utilise technology. The BBC revamp still sort of had Holmes as an anachronism, or not really au fait (or at least uninterested) with the "modern" - and sex - both of which made their presence known in this episode.

Why did they have to change only Watson to a girl? Why not both? Or why not leave them the same?

^It is ENTIRELY an excuse just to do that! Like I said, despite Holmes being pretty much asexual in all other adaptations, sex was already very much on the agenda in this opening gambit. I see Moonlighting levels of 'will they, won't they?' by the end of season 1... <_<I still see it as an excuse to have them sleep together without any repercussions.

what were your favorite VS costumes, Ophelia? 
I wasn't really impressed with this years costumes.
Here are the ones that stood out to me.
Sui stole the show for me, not so much with the outfits, but I couldn't stop looking at her. She's mesmerizing
Karlie looked amazing but her Native American outfit is so offensive, even though it's not her fault.

I'd say that I was wowed by only two costumes, and liked 3 others. These were the memorable ones. They will come to mind whenever I think of VS 2012. The rest of the costumes were either fair or not good at all.
Sui had beautiful outfits, I liked her hollywood one the best. I pointed out in my members thread that I was really wowed by Magdalena and Constance this time around.
Word from the grapevine (BZ rumor) is that Cameron's outfit cost a very large sum.
Karlie's costume was basically a cave woman bikini + Indian chief hat. If you remove the hat, the entire costume changes into a different subject I liked her target board costume too, but except for the target board......!
I'm going to do a post on the insane costumes next- the most insane being Maud's Alice costume (completely out of place), Cara's Lolita..(awkward) costume, and Jessica Hart's metal bicycle corset...
