Celebrity Scoop (cycle 1 & 2) Locked

This thread is extremely slow to post on right now because I think it's too big. It takes my post about 5-7 seconds for it to register on the page. No other threads on BZ take that long for me.

The fact the game has reached over 4K pages and the thread isn't loading as fast, I think it is fair to start a new thread the next cycle. Whether a cycle should end at 200 or 300 names is up to you guys. Just let me know what you all decide

Also, please make sure at the end of each cycle the HoF list is posted in the Competition Winner Log:

I prefer cycles end at 200 names (b/c I don't know many models/celebs ... already not so easy to me adding a new name to the list)

It's okay to start a new thread but I prefer if we keep going with the current list because if we start all over again, then what we've done so far would just be a waste of time. Can we start a new thread starting from 201 perhaps?

Certainly it's possible to reach 500 or more .... you can even never reset and still find names to add. But it's difficult for people like me. If you check the logs you'll see few girls added by me compared to other players after round say 260 -270 though I'm very active in this game..... the reason is I don't know lots of celebs, the ones I know are very famous and proly already added. That's why I favor the recycling principle.

Plus it's the quality of the names ..... if you recycle you give the chance to somebody to hall a BIG name. I had the chance to hall names like Candice and Emily ..... it's impossible to hall a very favorite of yours (b/c proly already halled) if you don't recycle  

Anyway ... it's a point of view. I understand why celeb experts think otherwise

Actually I'm sure you know a lot of celebs, it's just that probably you're not interested in halling them. And I did let anyone hall some of my favourites, in fact I helped in doing it.

It's just that I find it pointless to start all over again and re-hall the same names all over again just because someone acknowledge very few people.

You and I are the only ones who constantly play with this game, so I'm sure that at some point you too would be bored by the fact that you just halled the same people.

I only suggested a new thread because this thread takes longer to post in than any other one on BZ. This thread actually loads pretty fast though.

it's ok if you all want to open a new thread but if we start all over again i'm not going to play anymore

The thread loads slowly because of the number of people posting in that thread at the same time, I don't think it's because of the pages reached.

I guess my loading issue is the opposite of yours. The page loads very fast for me, but my responses (votes) are delayed about by 5 seconds.

I have the same issue but I thought it was because of that, not because the topic has so many pages.   I have the same issue even with threads with 2 pages but because there are PLENTY of pics.

It could be a server issue. I've been on other message boards before and once threads start to get a lot of pages they start to be a burden on the server and act weird.

I'm really fine with either way, I just don't want to alienate the mainstay players of this game.

Maybe we all can come to a consensus on what to do that pleases everyone.

What do you guys think about this as a compromise: For this cycle we will make an exception and go to 250 names. I am sure you all could reach that easily within a couple of weeks or less. Then we could start a new cycle (300 names), in a new thread, and reset all the names. Maybe I will start up Celebrity Scooper Bowl again then if you guys are still interested. BTW, the top 3 from the last CSB are going to sit out in the next edition to give other celebs a fairer chance

I looked at the rules, how many times has this game cycled before?

This game is just for fun anyway.

Maybe the rules need to be altered to make it mean something more if we started over in a new thread.
