@ Neo: mentally italian??????????????
what do you mean?? <_<
anyways, in the U.S. the word LOVE has lost all of its meaning, everybody says ''i love you'' and the topics in the ''people of bellazon'' forum can confirm it.
how can you possibly LOVE someone you dont even know? its just ridiculous. In my opinion the word love is the most biggest and full of meaning. In the neo-latin languages it is used only to express yourself when you REALLLY mean it. It has profound meaning. In fact I have never said it to any girl.

In Japan, they don't even have a word for love because it's so sacred. They just say something like "I really, really like you".
different cultures.

yes the word love has lost its meaning big time...about mentally italian...i get confused for italian or latin all the time so i go with it. in my culture you dont say love unless you mean it. in america it gets thrown around like its saying i like you. if you read in ronin's thread i said how marriage has lost its meaning...and its no longer sacred as it used to be with multiple divorces and i personally thing they have to throw out the till death do you part because its no longer valid.

oh and to be clearer..for neo-latin languages i mean..: spanish, french, portuguese and italian for the people who dont know.
uh I don't think you right about that. I believe you CAN love someone over the internet because it's probably the purest form of their personally. The way that you express yourself through words IS your personally; since it's on the internet no other variables get in the way, such as looks and environment. It's much harder to get your point across when people can't hear the tone of your voice and your hand gestures, to be able to do so is a great feat. Also I say that I love angie because I DO love angie, as a friend. There are many different types and meaning to love, it’s not something you can just pin point a definition too. Another thing is that I usually don't say I love you to guys even if they are my friends because it's usually different with a guy friend and a girl friend, but that doesn't mean you can't love a guy as friend. I'm a little bit offended by what you said you made a sweeping generalization about everyone on this forum AND if you believe that you can't know someone over then internet then you can't possible know how I feel or what I believe in. I'm sorry I'm being defensive but I am very defensive over my friends and my feelings. I’m not the type of person to ever say thing that I don’t mean. But yes, there are many people that do take the word love and its meaning for granted, but I’m not one of them.
I'm just a very sensitive person and I put a lot of feeling into everything I do and say.

gocho and i were talking about that...its different with girls and expressing their emotions with each other...gocho will back me up on that, i personally look at love as something special and shouldnt be thrown around like its nothing but i know its different between girls. that and if you take account how middle easterns and latin cultures great each other when they see each other, americans think of it like how he kissed her on the cheek but in latin and european and middle eastern cultures if you kiss and hug on the cheek its very common but in america people look at that as if its a come on. its a friendly gesture in cultures outside of america. he didnt make a generalization of the people of the forum but yeah love does get thrown around like its nothing in america.
I don't think you're getting what I wrote. ![]()

i get what you mean...i just think in general love is used to much...lets just say no offense but you parents made a mistake when not teaching you about your russian culture because the russian culture is very similar to my culture. you would understand my point of view a lot more.
Actually that is kind of offensive my parents probably did what they would think would be best for me, you wouldn't know what they where thinking or why they did the things that they do. Also you are NOT Russian so you couldn't exactly say what is similar or not I've taken up actually studying my culture so I'm sure I know about it. Unless you major in Russian culture I don't appreciate you shove MY heritages and MY culture in my face.

my grandma and grandfather were both born and raised in russia.
I'm sorry I sound like a total bitch and I'm being defensive but I just don't appreciate what you just said to me.
yeah I was born in Russia to and I study it. I want to end this convocation now before I'm not so nice.

well, i personally think there is a big difference between saying "i love you" and "im in love with you" as for the girls, they are very sentimental and use the word alot more often then guys normally do, im not saying its good or bad, thats just what ive noticed over the years

Ok I agree with Neo in the cultural aspect, what he was trying to say is not in the sense in how your parents raised you, but if you were raised in that culture you would look at it differently, you would look at it in a more traditional way.outside of North America people are still very traditional. He didnt meanto make fun of your parents jsut stating that its still quite traditional outside of the States and Canada.
Yes I understand that but to say my parents are WRONG is a diffent story and I happening to be discovering my culture on my own. There is a difference between just believing what people tell you and exploring it for yourself. Even if my parents did tell me all about Russian culture it wouldn’t be the same as me discovering it on my own.
To discover it on my own keeps me up on russian times. I don’t live in russian if I were to just take what my parents say as set in stone then I would only know what times were like when they were kids not current times.

sorry I didn't even notice you posted that.
but yeah thats a good point too.

Isn't this supposed to be about favorite positions? I guess I'll pull us back on track and say that I like to be traditional, so missionary is one of my favorites, I suppose.
