And @Stormbringer I must see this Spanish version

Which reminds me that a couple of years ago I discovered Volbeat, which became one of my favorite bands quite quickly. Well, on the first album it was this song:
Somehow it sounded familiar... Then I couldn't stop laughing when I realized why was it I knew the song:

And did you hear about the lawsuit on "Stairway to Heaven"?

You're welcome
Yes, I heard about and actually that has been going on for a while and as far as I know is no secret Jimmy Page took some ideas from that Spirit song. I remember I was still in High School the first time I read something about both songs sharing some common elements.
But to be honest I don't think it's enough to hold a lawsuit, not at all. There's some similarities, sure, but then that happens in all popular music. Those common elements are not enough as I see it to claim plagiarism. There's a similar chord progression and arpeggio and that's it. Big deal. There's tons of songs sharing chord progressions and no one is claiming plagiarism. Because you can't do it based on a song's harmony scheme. The melody here is totally different.
All I see here is a virtually unknown band that didn't make it nearly as close as to what Led Zeppelin achieved seeking a way to put their name out there and get some extra money. And what would be worse it may not even be them but their lawyers...
This is the Spirit's song, so judge yourself:
Jimmy Page "stole" A LOT of Blues music for the early Zeppelin albums and they faced a couple of lawsuits at the time, but this is not the case...
On this thread I've posted many pairs of songs that are much more evidently similar to each other than these 2 and as far as I know there have been no lawsuit for any of them:
<___base_url___>/topic/54151-musicsongs-similar-to-other/?do=embed

After hearing both they are 2 different pieces of music to the ear. And as u noted, one era of music will influences the next. This has been the case for as long as music has been alive. For me, it's the interpretation of the law and how it's written that leaves me a bit frustrated here. It really does sound like this unknown band just wants to find a way to siphon money from those who really worked hard and made a name for themselves.

^ Definitely that's what's happening here in my opinion.
It's true that Led Zeppelin stole some Blues music (and Dazed and Confused is a big ripoff
) but this is not the case. Even if Jimmy Page took that song as an inspiration for Stairway to Heaven's intro (which btw is the only similar part), as if I'm not wrong he admitted himself, that's just something every musician does. We all take inspiration in the work of others to make our own.

That was like the Dani California/ Mary Jane's Last Dance debacle
Which Mary Jane's Last Dance much better

^ But even in that case is MUCH more evident. Not only the chord progression but the interpretation of it and the fact that both songs are build over that phrase. I mean it's basically the same riff
I also think Tom Petty's song is better, though Danny California is like the song that saves that disaster that Stadium Arcadium was
And it's not only Dani California that takes a riff from that song

I didn't mind Stadium (slight topic change) but it felt a lil too... idk
She's only 18/Toture Me still stand out to me as the best in that one but overall it wasn't a great album

Well, it kinda has it's songs... But then when you compare it with the likes of Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic or One Hot Minute, or their more straight forward Funk records of the beginning well... it's far from being a great album. To make it worse it's double

Come on, bring er in Stormy

Stormbringer I think you might like this video. That girl can grind that violin.

She plays good!. The music itself doesn't do much for me though.
