^ And that one is the least good of them
My favorite is Fortress. Incredible, incredible album. It's hard to believe they're basically Creed with another singer
The change (and improvement) is incredible.

I liked the Myles Kennedy/Slash stuff as well.
Myles has a good singing voice for what they did together

His stuff wit Slash is great too! He is easily my favorite vocalist of this time.

1998. I was looking at the "ashamed" thread and then this popped in my head Not your style but I remember when this song came out

No, definitely not my style
But not a bad song anyway.
But the singer as a rather similar voice to Mick Jagger

This is a masterpiece

Pantera was never my thing personally mostly cause i'm not much of a metal guy (some old metallica & maiden about as far as I go)
But ya dimebag was pre' dam good on the guitar.
Also, you gonna go to brazil and try to see all the women at the olympics
you never know Stormy

^^ Pantera. I used to go see them locally in Dallas when they were just a Van Halen cover band. Back then, Darrell Abbot was Diamond, not Dime Bag. Then they got serious with metal and Terry left the group and they got Phil in on vocals and they really took off.
Ahh, memories.

I've been to Brazil and I can confirm about the women there

Whoa that's amazing!!!
Such great memories those must be indeed! Must have been amazing to see them when they started and then to witness the evolution they had.
He was actually still "Diamond" well into their Metal phase. On my Vulgar Display of Power CD he still appears as Diamond Darrell. I think he started going as Dimebag by the time of Far Beyond Driven.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Funny thing, we were close to the same age. He was listed as the local guitar wiz/phenom at 17, and listed as a must see in the local clubs around town.
I remember seeing a few of the shows with Phil, back before they went big. It was always a joy to watch them.

Ah yes, I've read about him being such a prodigy back then. So awesome that you saw that first hand!
(Why "the worst of times"?)
I found this on Youtube: from the early days with Phil, just after Power Metal and before Cowboys From Hell.
There's actually a couple of Cowboys From Hell songs on this set list and quite a guitar solo in which Darrell already features parts of what would later become the song Floods

Or
Or
I know it's a tough choice Stormy but if you were to pick a favourite
You can't say none cause @Prettyphile & I may will make you choose

I refuse to listen either

Now you've done it Stormy
I hope it was worth it

Something original this time!
This is a rather old song I wrote back in early 2007 but I never recorded it decently. I mean there's a demo of it but in awful quality
So I decided to record it again but well done this time.
This is called El Infierno Emerge or something like "Hell Emerges" in English
Oooooh it got embeded!! How awesome ![]()

@PinkCouture This is the song I commented you I was working on that has that creepy/tense slow section.

I'm here now
Sorry I got caught up in others summoning spells.
Stormy you need to pick one of the songs. It's for your benefit! Don't make me pick mister, or the song might MAGICALLY appear in your thread for ALL to hear ... ![]()

I won't negotiate under terrorist threat
Better listen to what I posted above

I've listened, and I approval. I'm getting notes of The Misfits, with a little Megadeth, and some Ride the Lighting era Metallica. 5:08 and I'm getting some serious PF mixed with Zeppelin vibes
Now, your turn or I pick ![]()

First one because the video is less disturbing

Awesome!
I'd say Metallica was my biggest influence at the time I wrote this song; I had just got into Kill 'em All, Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets a couple of months before writing this.
