She looked fine but it did make the big deal they made out of casting a plus size model look stupid.

Since she barely looked like one in the actual issue.

Basically she looked like an amazon.

In the US, the use of "plus sized models" has grown I believe (esp. in the past couple of years).  There are stores in malls or small branded stores that are targeted entirely towards overweight women.   All the models are plus sized, too.  They are usually big boned and still possess a feminine shape like Ashley.

i'm not a fan of ashley and this is obviously an unpopular opinion, but i actually think this picture looks significantly better than barbara's. though 2 for 2, i'm disappointed with the rookies this year.

I really want to scream at some people calling her fat. Just because shes a plus model doesn't mean shes fat. She's clearly toned and takes care of her body. All these comments on her and SI's instagram branding her as unhealthy and disgusting is just ridiculous because shes not. She's an amazing woman to look up to and is popular for all the right reasons. I just want to send them a big internet slap!

Now this girl, Tess Holliday, who seems to be a figure in the plus size model world is NOT healthy. This girl has excess weight of at least 100-200 pounds to loose. And can't even put her own clothes on without help of someone else. THAT is not a good public figure for the plus size community, in fact, IMO its disgusting.

+1  It seems one of the default to insulting any woman is by calling her fat  Often times it is easier to insult someone else by deflecting and projecting our own insecurities  than to come to terms with our own flaws. The internet has made this so much easier. An actual conversation:

Male: You have a beautiful smile but you are a bit on the chubby side so i don't think it would work between us.

Female: Ok. But you aren't exactly fit either. You are much more overweight than me.

Male: Well...I prefer slender woman

As for Ashley, she is much better-looking than a lot of thinner models. If anyone cannot see past her body shape then that is their problem

WTF!?!?  I'm not into super skinny girls, I like SOME curves in the right places, but IMO this has no place in SI.  I'm disappointed!
