The 2016 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Pinned

So I finally saw the entire thing and this is my final veredict, overall I really liked the show and IDK if it's because my expectations were extra low but to me it was one of the best ones they've done recently. Lots of beautiful women, I feel like this year they went for a more womanly look and other than a few exceptions I didn't feel creepy looking at half naked teens and I liked the outfits for the most part.

I only have two (or three, depends on how you see it) with the show, the first one is that there's too many women, they had 51 women and some of them were very blink and you'll miss it, Megan was great but she had like 0.03 seconds of screentime, I say they need to cut back to 35-40 so they can all get some love  and also put more focus on the Angels outfitwise, which takes me to the fact that there's way too many Angels and the editing of the segments was too messy, and there's 12 Angels and barely half of them got screentime. My second issue is that we did not need ANOTHER fitness/VSX segment, they've done too many recently and that time could have been used to either show Elsa being told she is opening or to show Jasmine and her FB or to profile another girl like Sara or Tay who seem to do well with audience, IMO the VSX segment was useless. The Hadid segment was adorable tbh and I think it's something they would have done even if the sister's in case were not the Hadids.

As far as performers goes, I doesn't get any better than these three. They all interacted with the models without standing in their way but still managed to get some spotlight and they are all three talented individuals so VS did nail the performers thing. My favorite was Bruno Mars and he can come back and perform every year if he wants tbh.

Now segment by segment:

TRA - Overall the music wasn't the greatest but I still like it, I just wish the outfits had a more cohesive order instead of just throwing them out randomly, Elsa & Bill slayed the fuck out of the opening, mamma made me proud
Other favorites in this were Adriana, Ming and Lais who all looked beautiful.
On the tragic side of this are Joan, Kendull and Liu.

MR - Too covered up but the Gaga song was perfect tbh and the scenary was beautiful
Josephine was the biggest letdown this year, her opening was terrible and I sincerely hope she never opens again
Favorites in this were Leomi (somebody give this woman a contract ASAP, it needs to happen), Kelly, Flavia, Sara, Megan, Flavia and Sanne
Tragic: Josephine's opening, Lily A, Lily D and Keke

PINK- I LOVED this segment to no ends, the energy from Bruno was there, every lady on this segment came to slay and even tho some outfits were terrible they still made it work and I personally think this is the best PINK segment they've done since the first one back in 2006. Grace did a wonderful job opening.
Favorites: Grace, Alana, Zuri, Lameka, Luma, Xiao and Lais
The only ones I didn't love here was Rachel, she had the lowest energy level and I guess you can't blame her, girlfriend got fucked over big time by VS and Camille who looked so out of place and uncomfortable it was sad 

SA - I liked it and the song fitted perfectly, it was a good segment and it had some really really good outfits. Adriana's opening was on point and I'm so glad she didn't do anything stupid.
Favorites: Adriana,  Elsa, Valery, Sanne, Irina, Ming, Georgia, Jourdana and Sara
Tragic: Liu

DA - Gaga's performance was great but I don't think this should have followed SA, they were too similiar. Taylor's opening I did not enjoy at all, it wasn't her best year and I wish someone else had opened tbh. I'm just meh about this segment
Favorites: Sui, Kate, Gigi, Martha, Izabel, Leomie
Tragic: Kendull, Joan

BNA - Perfect for the closing, great performance, lots of beautiful outfits and Stella's opening was on point. Jasmine looked stunning in the FB and I wish she had closed the show with it
Favorites: Stella, Irina, Bella, Romee, Georgia, Maria, Jasmine, Kelly
Tragic: Lily D, Lily A (will she ever be able to walk decently?), Josephine (what the fuck was that dance? yiiikes!)

Finale - Lead by Elsa & Adriana this was the highlight of the show for me and my inner 13 years old psychofan so yassss! A bit too short tho, I wish they had shown more of it but oh well

My favorite segment was PINK for all the reasons listed above and my least favorite as MR because the outfitd were too covered, this is a lingerie show and I like my girls in small lingerie.

First show I watched was 2013, thought it sucked big time...2014 and 2015 was better, I liked the Boho section.....I've watched all of them since 2007 and after, haven't really watched any prior to that. I'm not into Gisele and Tyra and the like...but then again I don't like the bubbly little kid angels either...so my favorite shows were 2010-2012.

 

My perfect Angel lineup: Candice, Miranda, Josephine, Taylor, Adriana, Elsa, and Barbara Palvin (shoulda become one!!!) She's my all time favorite!....and for just regular VS models, I would use Jasmine, Rommee, Cindy Bruna, Gigi, Toni Garnn, Emanuela de Paula, and Grace and Zuri for PINK...

Your Angel lineup lacks diversity and is a complete snooze fest (with the exception of Barbara) Miranda isn't even an Angel anymore so...also Jasmine and Emanuela for PINK? Are you mentally insane? They are waaaay too old for PINK and have amazing bombshell bodies...

My Angel line up(being realistic and only using girls VS is actually working with rn) would be: Candice, Adriana, Taylor, Elsa, Jasmine, Jo, with Grace for Pink and moving up to mainline. If I'm allowed to dream I'd also have Kelly Gale as an Angel to round it off, finally get an Asian Angel in there. 

I love Lais and Sara but I think having a smaller lineup is a much better move for VS if they want to gain that recognition back with that Angel status. I think Ale, Lily, Martha, Romee and Stella should all go, even if I'm a fan of some of the girls.  They're really too heavy on the blondes with the current line up.

There was never any mystery girl lol VS was trying to get everyone hyped and probably forgot about it in the long run, many thought it was Alexis Ren (would make sense since all the NA followed her on twitter the same day VS Twitter made that tweet and also she was in NY at the time with a same/similar jacket. But I believe it was possible Irina (but she's done runway many times...)

I couldn't agree more! Perfect Angel lineup in my eyes! Small, diverse and yet attainable. I also love Lais and Ale but VS seems to be holding them back so they should leave when they can. 

My perfect Angel lineup would be (same as yours): Adriana, Candice, Taylor, Elsa, Jo, Jasmine and Behati (we need that edgy boho type of girl that ppl can relate with I guess even tho Idc for her)

also Grace being a PINK Angel and moving into mainline in about 2 years and if we were to get new Angels: Kelly Gale and Maria Borges for sure! 

My perfect line-up would be Candice, Taylor, Behati, Sara, Elsa, Lais and Kelly Gale (reaching but).

Grace for PINK until maybe Bee moves on in a couple years then make her an Angel.

Only just watched the broadcast.

This show is now fixed into such a tight mold that the years have become more or less interchangeable.

The biggest difference that I noticed is that they have loosened up on the "no booties" policy so that the editing process doesn't feel so forced like previous years where they contorted themselves into all sorts of weird cuts and camera angles just so they wouldn't show any bare ass cheek.

^ IA about the show being fixed into such a tight mold or structure. The past few years especially have blended together a lot.

I think a solid lineup for Angels (going with girls VS actually works with) would be: Candice, Behati, Adriana, Elsa, Taylor, Jasmine, Josephine and either Sara or Lais with Grace for Pink. Ale, Lily, Martha, Stella and Romee should go even if I'm a fan of some of them. Ale would be better off leaving now and putting her full focus on her brand and Lily is hardly used and frankly looks out of place now, plus she has a solid enough career outside of VS that she'll be fine. Martha is a snoozefest and brings nothing to the lineup that another girl doesn't already. I like both Romee and Stella a lot but I think both work better for HF, but if I had to pick one to stay it would be Romee.

Realistically I can only see VS letting Ale, Lily and maybe Martha or Lais go in the next couple of years. To VS more is more, including their contracted girls

VS is not doing the show to spend a bunch of money on an extravanganza. As Pink said, it's an hour long commercial.

They meant Jasmine et al as regulars and only Grace and Zuri for PINK.

She was so gorgeous in the 2010 show too, definitely one of my fave newcomers that year. 

You guys, I just read somewhere that the Angel contract has been offered to so many models who've walked the shows in the past years but the majority turned it down 

Oluchi Onweagba (she has been in 6 shows in a row, always got huge wings, did campaigns and press work with Adriana, Tyra, Heidi and Gisele so makes sense, she's also best friends with Adriana Lima)
