It’s been mentioned here that Ana Beatriz Barros was offered the Angel contract but she turned it down because she didn’t want to become that famous.

Also Daria Werbowy, Ana BB, Isabeli Fontana, Claudia Schiffer, Anja Rubik I've heard have turned down contracts 

are we sure about Jessica Stam? her HF career was big back than so i understand why but she went to casting again and didn't make it

The VS contracts are super exclusive (at least they used to be before VS cut out a ton of their product lines) and demand a lot of the model's time(probably less now that they have 14 Angels to the 6-8 they used to have). It makes sense that a lot of these girls with good HF careers and solid commercial work would turn down VS.

Interesting. Never heard any of those girls were offered Angel contracts. I only heard from Ana BB and Daria, but they chose L'Oréal and Lancome respectively. Ana BB was reportedly offered an Angel contract around the time when Ale became one. I wonder if they offered Ana BB a contract first and, after she turned it down, went for Ale instead. 

From your list, only Carmen makes sense. She was sorta wooed by VS considering she got to open and close the 1999 show. It seems to me that Oluchi could have easily been offered a contract, but back then when VS was super picky with whom to chose, I guess they never offered her one because her voice is too hollow to make a good spokesperson.

I think you got confused with Edita. In 2011, she allegedly had to choose to either walk the VS show or the Versace for H&M show (both took place on the same day or around the same time) and she chose the latter one. She's one of my favorite models but she never really stood out to me when she did the VS show.

From what I understand, she was part of the Angels commercial in 1997 that started the whole Angels thing for the company.

hmm... the first fantasy bra was made before they had the Angel-concept. 

I don't think they would ever do it again since they have so many (too many) Angels to pick from nowadays. In 2002, they gave it to Karolina Kurkova before she was made an Angel though. So I guess never say never.

Edita turned down the 2011 show to walk for Versace for H&M the previous day. I remember Maryna didn't get cast for the 2012 show but was shooting for VS the day of the show. I still stand by my statement they would have made impressive Angels. Especially Maryna. She's quite memorable on the runway, what with spanking Usher and punching balloons in Pink. 

Starting from 2010, VS went loose and sorta threw Angel-contracts around like Oprah did with gifts on her show. 

I wished VS would have hired Irina Shayk and Bar Refaeli by that time. Both would have made an insanely sexy dream team.

HORRIBLE can't believe she was casted for the show with those plastic boobs. If you want to it, then do it very subtle and do small implant and a good surgeon. Can't believe they let her walk!!!

What has confused me is why there are only a few VS pictures of Bar Refaeli. Why didn’t they at least have her shooting Swim?

And regarding Irina, I find it weird that it took VS this long to cast her in the show. It’s not like all the models that they have featured in the fashion shows have been bombshells, some weren’t even all that attractive outside of high fashion.
