Tifa is too anime for my liking. She is one of the original game favs from the PS1 (FF VII). Another one from that era was Parasite Eve.

I didn't know much about FF7 until recently. I've just bought the game and I like it. The gameplay is original (though the game has weaknesses, like the fact that it's very linear).
Tifa is cute, but the best thing about her is her personality. She's a sweetheart with very a charming way of speaking. She's a very good fighter in the game, I like her martial art style. I heard that they reduced her breast size in the remake, because some feminist activists said they were too big

The combat system in FF7 is really interesting. The gameplay is a bit repetitive (with some kind of routine:hallway, fight, cutscenes), but the story is so good and original. There's so much imagination in the universe of this game (stories, characters, weapons, etc.), it's wild and it never gets boring.

The PS1's version was all pixels lol. One of the things I remember from the early days of the internet was how Tifa cartoon porn was a thing.. The worst thing is how they changed Tomb Raider into a darker skinned, skinny petite (rather than a white skinned, Pam anderson like woman in the original.)

It's a remake of a very old, classic game.
I have distinct memories that this game was a big hit with middle school kids and I missed out back then on conversations about it. I was 2-3 years behind everyone else in upgrading from the Super Nintendo to the playstation. I was bitter about missing out on the Playstation.
When I finally got the PS, it was AFTER I got the N64 and I didn't have many games for the PS at all. The only FF game I had was VIII and I didn't like it very much.
It seems that of the old FF, VII was the best one and VIII was disappointing. I think they are up to 14? now. I don't follow final fantasy.
