I understand and share your concern, because the world does have a couple of screws loose 
But we (the common people) are its best hope. Whatever we think (left, right, etc.), we heve to step up for the freedom of thought. Thinking against our certainties and allowing all opinions to be expressed (incl. those we disagree with) are our best hopes to cool down the nuts impulses.
PC is trying to shut to shackle critical thinking, with concepts like "safe spaces, hate speech, etc.". All these may have good intentions, but they surely have crazy consequences.
Despite the sad ambient music, let's keep our hopes high.
