The Sun shouldn't report these lunacies. And the po-po is investigating it?? They have nothing better to do?? It's not like real crime is skyrocketting in London (like acid and knife attacks )

Jeff Koon's work is rubbish.

To be precise, it's expensive rubbish for snobbish buyers

I feel like these are fairly accurate descriptions of the art world.

Today's art world, yes.

Today, people like Koons or like this bloke who sold scribbles for $70 million (?!) are mutli-millionaires...

I find the reactions to Dennis Quaid marrying someone nearly forty years younger kind of hypocritical.

Self-determination is a big thing and is seen as a progressive boon but this does not extend to people who marry someone with a huge age difference?

I wouldn't want to get into such a relationship myself but I wouldn't judge anyone else who does, as long as they are both consenting adults.

^^Self determination/objective free will is an ideological/unscientific myth, and an even greater myth with regards to sexuality and relationships.

I'm not following this relationship at all but a 40 year gap is just suspicious on both sides as there are practical realities and both parties can find more suitable people if they try hard enough.  There is no such thing as a one true love, that is only for the religious and irrational romantics.

Newspapers start to disable the comment sections in their websites. Now, I understand that there might a couple of morons there, but these comment sections were useful and could help get a glance at people's thoughts, interests, etc.

I guess that might be a consequence of the regulations of speech, but... journalists are also more and more condescending with the populace, while the world has never been as educated as today. I guess they fear the difference in level between them and the population is... too thin. Relatively speaking, they're not the "elites" they used to be.

Of course, there are still a couple of decent and great journalists, people who do admirable work, but it's harder for them every day, because of groupthink and peer pressure.

I've been reading up on Paul Mooney's career and he's like the Malcolm X of comedy.  Way too hateful and racist for the mainstream (he makes Chris Rock/Chappelle look very soft) but always working at the top echelon with other black comedians.

Old, rich man has high status and can still impregnate. Young, fertile woman has high biological status because of her youth and fertility. Even thinking twice about a forty year age gap where the man is older is the definition of unscientific as it is 100% the result of social and psychological programming.

Oh, my politically incorrect statement is that science is a business first and foremost. It is up to the individual to use the scientific method for themselves.

Confessions of a Social Constructionist

https://quillette.com/2019/09/17/i-basically-just-made-it-up-confessions-of-a-social-constructionist/

Quote

The problem is: I was wrong. Or, to be a bit more accurate, I got things partly right. But then, for the rest, I basically just made it up.

In my defence, I wasn’t alone. Everyone was (and is) making it up. That’s how the gender-studies field works.

@Stromboli1  @Prettyphile @CandleVixen If you haven't read this article yet, check it out,  it's golden.

This guy is a Professor in a Canadian university and he explains how ideology made him (and most of his colleagues) falsify a lot of his work in the "gender-studies" field... That's very courageous from him to write all this (it's not easy to recognize mistakes and he's gonna annoy a lot of fanatics).
