He said the best light is usually natural light (sunlight), and really strong artificial light makes you look older.

its harder to take pictures without flash but the results, when done right, are always 10X better

Reward? I learn how to photograph humans better. That's all.
Also, while illustrating his point, he showed me some of his work.
For example, picture A was taken using flash, picture B was taken using natural light.

When you are in a room that receive very little natural light, it's hard.
Otherwise, it's fairly easy.
The pornographer said 90% of the time natural light is perfect for photo-taking.

I know zilch about photography.
It's a challenge to show as much detail as possible and yet at the same time, attempt to make the models appear as youthful as possible. It's about finding the balance between a bright enough and yet diffused enough illumination for your subjects.

well just to clarify, i wasnt trying to make u feel bad/stupid. so i apologize about that. trust me, i'm no photo expert...just some things seem to make sense to me...maybe coz i do like taking pictures even tho i'm not great at it.

No need to apologise.
Common sense do come with practice.
The more you do certain things, the more things become apparent that they should be part of your common sense. That said, I should be spending more time with a camera.

I think (not sure about this though) the normal cameras have better capture quality. Something to do with shutters and what not. Who knows. Maybe nyc_rocks or Spanish Eyes can fill us in here.
The difference is not big and will erode quickly.

May I suggest a hair straightener? I use a chi (one of the best kinds you can get), and I think you should use one. You wouldn't have to use any other kinds of products if you did straighten your hair.
