so i just downloaded the soundtrack to The Ring. A movie that scared the shit out of me for really NO reason except that I could never get the faces of those 2 people out of my head and the movie was just all around unsettling. i friggen hate horror film usually yet i stupidly decided to watch that one ... late at night ... alone. ok not completely alone. my friend and i watched it at the same time and talked on the phone while it was on haha. but still...i was creeped out for at least a week. couldnt sleep without the TV on (strange eh?) because i didnt like the dead ass quiet in my room.

And I shall lose it again, by mentioning that those two faces from the Ring haunt me to this day as well. :| That is the worst part of that movie, those two faces, and then next would be when she pulls that cord thing out of her throat *shudder* Haven't watched that movie again since the first time I saw it, and I'm waiting on someone to watch it with me before I see the second one. I'm frightened just mentioning the damn movie.

You talking on the phone while being freaked out by the movie, is like a horror movie scene in itself, you know. The defenseless girl home alone talking on the phone *insert just about any horror movie plot line in here*

Speaking of horror movies, I got nothing out of The Grudge, I even watched it in the dark alone in my room, with my closet door open behind me, and I got nothing, not even a *what the fuck just moved over there* feeling.

I'll probably never watch the ring again.

OMG well i am GLAD it is not just me. seriously those two faces were the most horrifying parts of the film. the best/worst (best from a horror film standpoint, worst for the watcher haha) was that they came out of NOWHERE! i know i closed my eyes when Naomi Watts turned the guy's chair around because i figured that's when they were going to show his face and i wanted NO part of that. but then they showed it maybe 2 minutes later...when you thought you were safe. i was like WOW just kill me now you know what i really hate about the sequel? that they damaged the the whole thing. take the face thing...the same thing in the 2nd movie but the way it was built up you knew EXACTLY when they were gonna show the faces, so guess what? i closed my eyes, didnt look, dont have any scary ass face from that film branded in my head. now while that's great for my sanity, it sucks from a movie standpoint. if i KNOW what's going to happen, then you havent done your job. period. you might not want to even bother with the second one, it was such a waste of money...oh wait...there is this one cool scene at the end of the film. the only part that was creepy to me. the rest of it was borderline laughable. totally did not live up to its predecessor.

the thing she pulled out of throat also scared the beejeebus out of me. i thought she was *gross idea coming* pulling out her intestines at first. :yuckky: it was still nasty no matter how you look at it.

i too will probably never see the Ring again because like you...it creeps me out just thinking about it :| and yet here i am ... it's the music driving me! i tell ya! it's the music

now i have not seen the Grudge but i will tell you right now that it looked WAY too much like a Ring ripoff. wasnt there some dark haired watery girl in that film too? at least i remember something like that from the coming attraction. and thats ultimately what pisses me the fuck off about horror movies. you get something different finally (like The Ring) and then you get all these fucking rip offs and wannabes using the same concepts over again and it's like um, no? the reason this worked the first time was because it hadnt been done before you dumbasses! lol

um yeah so...down with the Ring

I found out I'm not fireproof this morning. I was really hoping that I would be at least fireproof after finding out that I am susceptible to injury from pointy objects, but alas it is not to be I guess. See, I have these candles, and the candle is actually down inside this large jar, and the lower the candle is obviously the more difficult it gets to light the sucker without stick matches. So I lit a piece of twisted paper on fire to use, and it kind of toasted my fingers, but I got the damn candle lit, so it was completely worth the burn.

I was actually thinking about watching The Ring 2 this morning, thinking I would give it a shot, but I decided against it and watched Super Troopers instead, not nearly as scary. I have this little gif laying around somewhere of the girl in the closet from the ring, maybe I can find it later, but then I don't need to give anyone nightmares or anything so maybe I'll just refrain from posting that.

They trick you with the timing in the first movie, like you mentioned with the guy in the chair, sounds like they screwed that element up nicely in the second movie. But maybe it's still worth a watch. Luckily I spent zero dollars to check it out from the library, so if it sucks that bad, I'll just end up losing two hours of my life.

I think that shit she pulled out of her throat wasn't so much scary, as just stomach churning. I mean the fact that you couldn't really identify at first what exactly it was, was pretty messed up, but just the fact that a foreign object had somehow manifested itself inside her, that's kind of creepy. Intestines, now that would have been fucked up. :|

The grudge was ok, but nothing spectacular. It really had a lot of similarities to the Ring, including a sickly looking woman with long black hair, though she did more of a sneak up on you in dark places thing, more than climb out of the tv. There is one part that scared the shit out of me, where her face is back in the darkness, and the way they filmed it, they have you focusing someplace completely different away from where she is in the frame, and once you finally notice she is right there near the person, it's a bit unnerving. The noise they make when they show up though is kind of disturbing too, difficult to explain it, but it's a little creepy. It's worth a watch I think.

You're right though about the unoriginality, you finally get something new, and then there are 10,000 out within the next year that try to use the same things to scare you, and it gets old pretty fast, not to mention, it just doesn't scare you the same after seeing it for the hundredth time.

Got my sleeping normal again, I was up from 11 through the next day, so that I could go to sleep and then wake in the morning like normal, and it works everytime, bad part is I have to stay up through the day.
