I assume they went with Lindsey Vonn because of their previous relationship with her and because she is retiring (*). I wonder if they considered asking the newer, younger star of skiing, Mikaela Shiffrin. I doubt they did and I think she would say no anyway, but I would be interested to know if that conversation happened.
I am not generally a fan of the athlete shoots, but a US women's national team shoot could work (maybe).
* I'm not ignoring the fame part of it, Lindsey is much more famous, for a few reasons.
